We were both 28. And we weren't even engaged at the time, so you can imagine what people said to us. We eventually got engaged and got married at 30, so it was all just in time....

My first closing was actually me taking over the mortgage on my father's house after he got sick. First house, not an investment property, that I bought to live in, age 34.
DH was 30 when he bought his first house in 1998.

Us too! It was 2 weeks before our wedding!
We lived in an apartment for 2 yrs. Then "leased" my parents house for a year and then bought it.

I was 28 and DH was 27.
We just got engaged and I had just finished my master's program a few years before. I needed to replenish my bank acct. from all those classes. I say do it if you can. The sooner you do it the better it is in the long run! Good luck!
