How much do you spend a month...

on yourself, on average. Including clothing, hair, makeup, shoes etc. - your own personal shopping.

Just curious if DH has a point or if I am right

Shopping alone is probably $1,000 a month.. Plus about $220 for hair and nails and products.

Maybe $50.....most months not even that.

I don't get my nails done, don't shop for myself, just buy shampoo and conditioner. Holidays I ask for gift cards and makeup/perfume.

Now if you ask me what I spend on my kids that is a whole other ballgame

Anywhere from 0 - $500 - totally depends on the month!

eta - most of my skincare and some make up is free for me, so my # may be skewed.

To answer my own question I spend an average of about $600 - $800 a monthe some months more, other less.

Long answer:

I started coloring my hair at home, so I knocked that from $100 to $10! I get a few haircuts a year, so I spent on average $25 per month on hair.

Nails - maybe some pedicures in warm weather, so lets say $10 per month on nails.

Makeup/skincare: Probably $100 month (including a facial here and there and Sephora stuff).

Clothing: $500 a month? I can go months with only spending 50-100, and then I do a massive shopping and spend 2K to get tons of suits for work.

Other stuff: like the random stuff you buy that you absolutely do not need and probably never use again - $100.

So, total, is $735. This seems pretty accurate, actually.

This DOESN'T include money spent on food, liquor and entertainment when hanging out with friends!

I'd say on shopping about $300-$400. Hair gets colored/cut about every 6 weeks ($150). I am trying to cut back.... on the shopping that is.

Am I the only one shocked by how much is spent per month on clothes and "pampering".. I am not judging I am just surprised b/c I buy clothes like twice a year-- Before Winter, before Summer,,,,to refresh my wardrobe and MAYBE per month I spend 25-50 bucks on beautifying myself..

So if you are spending 300...400..per MONTH I am so curious? What are you buying? Shoes..purses? I dont have 300-400 per month to spend in general let alone on clothing...

my husband and i have become very cheap

if you include things like soap, razors, deoderant i guess i spend $50 a month on myself (average)...

every few months i get a haircut

i do my color at home

once in awhile mani/pedi

clothes/accessories haven't bought anything in awhile - i really only buy something if i need an outfit for an occasion, or new shoes, or new bathing suit...but i dont work and am a homemaker so i dont need a lot of clothes - i wear a lot of jeans and tanks or sweats...

I spend anywhere from 500-$1500 per month on myself. If I get my hair done sometimes a little more.

that's hard to answer... i "budget" and allot money for my hair, tanning etc - even if i don't spend it on a monthly basis. like, i buy tanning packages 2-3x a year that obviously last for months. i get my hair cut/colored only every 3 months or so.
figuring that out, i "spend" approximately $250 a month on tanning/hair/eyebrows/manicures & pedicures.
makeup, i have no idea. whenever i need something, i just get it.
and shopping... i can go months without buying anything. but i probably spent about $2000 in the last 2 weeks buying things for spring/summer - that includes shoes. that was off the charts for me. i don't generally spend like that... but i lost about 30 pounds this last year, so aside from the shoes, i really did NEED the clothes.
i really haven't a clue what i normally spend on clothes, but i think dh would kick my butt if i spent like that on a normal basis!

Since having DD, not much. I wind up spending all my money on her.

I spend about $100-200 on my hair a month depending on what I get done. I rarely get my nails done anymore - just got them done last weekend for the first time in 6 months but the every other week pedicures will have to start soon.

Clothes - since I have been preggo I haven't purchased much. I did 2 big sprees at the end of last year and that's pretty much it.

Every once in a while I'll splurge and buy myself a higher ticket item, but not that often.

Per month is too hard. Generally I spend 200 4x a year on hair. Pedis every 2 weeks in the summer. Every two months in the winter (I maintain at home.)10 per month on brows. A good bag a couple of times a year. Tons of shoes. My size has been between a 4 and an 8 since I gave birth, so it has been a difficult adjustment.

not that much lately

hair cut and color- free

Straighting 2 times a year- $200-$250

I have no time for my nails- but I will start getting pedicures every 2-3 weeks starting next week- I spend $15 on that

waxing- $10 a month

clothes- not much anymore unless it's a change is season- I am doing that this week at the bloomies friends and family sale - so far I spent $225 on pre-sale items

and plan on another $250 this week

this is a huge change for me- I used to easily spend $1k but I have shifted my priorties

Hmm, I don't spend a lot. Monthly...

I buy Shampoo & Conditioner from Israel: $6.99 each. I buy that every other month.

I buy make-up twice a year (birthday and Christmas) with GC's.

I buy clothes for my birthday and Christmas as well. Then, in between, if I need something for a specific event. So, on average (per YEAR) is around $500. Most of that is usually a GC. Maybe 100-200 extra per year on shoes?

I guess you could count my gym membership? $40 a month.

I have never colored my hair and I go to get it cut maybe 6 times a year at the most. Sometimes only four times a year (Quarterly).

I will, maybe once or twice a year, get a deep conditioning treatment or a facial. Maybe 3 times a year I'll get a blow out for an event/wedding.

That's it.

not much at all. Under $100.

I get a facial 4x/year, (that comes to about $30/mon)

haircut 4x/year - I don't color or anything, so my last haircut was $20 with tip (about $7/month)

i use GCs for my MAC makeup (just eyeshadow), and I buy drugstore brands with coupons for everything else (maybe averages out to $10/month)

I buy shampoo, deodorant and soap in bulk (with coupons, too) @ BJs (no more than $10/month, and DH uses the same shampoo/soap.)

I don't get my nails done. I prefer to do my own pedicures bc I don't love people touching my feet, and I prefer my nails unpolished bc they're always in/around the baby's mouth. I do buy about 5 bottles a year for color variety. ($3 month)

I'm going to need some spring clothes - i haven't bought any in 2 years bc I was PG last year. I'll use GCs from my birthday and discount codes. Otherwise I usually allow myself 1 item per month - either clothing or shoes. (about $30/month)


I spend way more on DS. I feel like the kid grows out of his PJs every month. People bought him "the next size" for Christmas, and he's already through them and into the NEXT size!

I guess if you average it out its about $100/m

I get $10 haircuts twice a year and don't color my hair.

I get $40 waxes every two months.

I get my eyebrows done every 2-3 weeks for $6.

In the winter I do my own manicure/pedicure but in the summer I go about every 3 weeks and spend $18 for both.

I only have one set of makeup and only buy new stuff when it needs replacing.

Clothes I buy twice a year before the seasons change unless i have a special occasion. I do most of my shopping at Old Navy. I also ask for clothes as gifts. I probably spend about $200 2x a year.

I do go to the dermatologist monthly - but I just have to pay the copay and my medicines are pretty cheap now and last a long time.

I would say about $500 (including manicures etc)....however this week alone I have spent probably $1500 on new shoes and clothes...mostly for my upcoming honeymoon! After this spree, I will pick up something here or there so go back to the $500.
