we put 20% down on our co-op and plan to do the same with a house when we buy one

We put down a 100k down and our house was 335k.

We bought a new construction home so we were required to put down 25% by the association,no exceptions.

We put about 15K down, which translates into about 5%. We mortgaged 95% of the price of the house and it is a 30 year fixed rate mortgage. We paid the closing costs.

We put down what amounted to 12% and took a HELOC to get up to 20%.

We bought our co-op on Patchogue about 3 years ago and only put down 3%. There was no way just starting out that we had 20%- even at that time when we bought it for $92K!
