Re: how long will you wait?

When this baby is born, DD will be 22 months old. We didn't want to wait to long to try for #2 because I will be 39 when baby #2 comes.

If I decide to have anymore (I like having just the one....so I can spoil her) than it probably won't be for another 2-3 years.

Re: how long will you wait?

One part of me wants to start trying before DD turns 1 because of the "age" factor; but another part wants to wait because I want to be able to be there and do everything I can for Marron. I just can't imagine being able to crawl around on the floor and run after her as she is still stumbling around with early walking and just being a regular toddler if I'm tired, dreary or just plain slow from having a PG belly! I'm kind of guessing that I'll probably wait until just around her 1st birthday to start trying so they will be around 2 years apart.

Re: how long will you wait?

Okay so, I've read all these posts and so far no one has them as close together as I do!!!!!

My daughter was 6 weeks old when I conceived my son. They are exactly 10 months and 11 days apart!!!!! This, as you can imagine was a definate Oooops!!!

But now that #2 is approaching his 1st birthday and I see how much they love each other, I wouldn't change it for anything!

DH and I have been bringing up #3, but if it does ever happen, it won't be until MAYBE MAYBE the end of '07. We kind of need to take a little break!

It was hard in the beginning, but we were already in the "groove of things". Like I said... then I was totally freaking out.. now, wouldn't change it for the world!!!!!

We want to start trying when DS is 19-20 months old. I really want to have a fall baby. I enjoyed having DS in the Spring but I feel like this summer has been miserable and I really can't take him out because it is too hot so for the next one I rather be pregnant in the summer. But we really aren't that careful, our method of BC is P-N-P so it might happen sooner which wouldn't be a bad thing. I would actually prefert them closer but DH wants to wait a little.

We talked about waiting as much as 4-5 years since ours was an unplanned but definately joyful pregnancy --- we just weren't ready for it financially so we wanted to give it some time to get more on our feet...

However recently DH has talked about trying in a year or so ....

Sometimes I want a new little baby right away, other times I'm wondering how I'll ever be able to handle it. I think the doubtful days are just telling me that the time isn't right yet ... and when it is right it'll happen.

There are 6 years between my two girls. While that may not seem right for everyone, I loved it. It afforded me the opportunity to concentrate on one of them at a time. My oldest was more independent and was, also, a big help. I know it's not for all, but, it worked or me.Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: how long will you wait?

We knew we wanted kids 2year apart. We originally talked about waiting til the fall to TTC, but we threw caution to the wind. The kids will be about 21 months apart.

We will be trying for #2 in a few months and DD will be 21 months old, so we are hoping for a 2 1/2 year age difference

I really can't wait to have baby #2 - I hope they will be close in age - and maybe start trying after DD is a year and a half - what who knows!!

Re: how long will you wait?

Originally, I wanted my kids 4-5 yrs apart. But after having a lot of difficulty getting PG with Katie, we decided that when she turns 1 yr old in April of next year, we'll start trying in May.

Re: how long will you wait?

Ideally we want them to be 2 years apart, but we need a larger home first! So hopefully in 2 years I will have a bigger house and more room for the 2nd one. That's the plan for now:)

Re: how long will you wait?

I am thinking we will re-evaluate at around 2-3 years old. I would like at least a 3 year difference between Bella and her potential sibling. Between daycare costs and wanting Bella more independent when there's a newborn.

Who knows...

I happen to think that's pretty cool because my brother and I are only 10 months apart too Chat Icon

When I go down to my original weight, that's when we will try again
It could be next month or it could be a year.
