How long after you moved in did you finish decorating..

We moved in our new house in October and nothing is done accept one bathroom. We literally have nothing hung on the walls yet. We have done some construction (which still isn't quite finished) and painted every room. For some reason I do not like ANY Of the decor I had before buying the house! I think a lot has to do with the fact we were in apartments beforehand and I want to start fresh. Problem is, starting new is time consuming, expensive, and indecisive!! I cannot decide on a style for anything. It is getting me so upset because I want our house to feel like a home and it just doesn't.

We also came from always living in apartments and I too wanted to start fresh and it to feel like our home...it is very expensive though to do a whole house new. We bought 2 furniture for 2 rooms that would be new. The others, we will do within time and for the meantime have the old furniture. Our master BR and the Lr were most important to me since we were they most.

G/L. youll get there. October is not long and it was the holidays which is a hard time. Maye set a goal for yourself like June 1, in time for summer.

I have been in my house for 2 years and the only room that is finished is the baby's room.

I moved quickly with decor, I feel.

some furnishings took awhile to decide on , though.

money wasn't an issue, so I guess that helped with doing stuff.


but if you are on a budget, check out antique and thrift stores. you would be amazed at what you can find!
or even on etsy!

it's good to let rooms speak to you, if that makes sense. may sound crazy, but I didn't realize how much sun my kitchen got year-round. Or how little my living room gets. You have to even take that into consideration when decorating and painting.

I am here over a year and havent put any pics, decor up!!! I still havent unpacked that stuff. I feel like there is never time!

We are in our house for a year and a half... Nothing is really "finished", at least in my opinion-- although everything is mainly there, it's finishing touches, changes I want to make based on our lifestyle, an additional "layer" of decor items to make each room feel finished and lived in. The basics, plus a lot of extras are done in mainly every room-- but my vision is not completely realized yet!!

We moved in mid August and we are nearly done decorating but seriously I am in no rush because i am always on the look out for cute things and never force things upon myself just to finish a room

We moved in the first week in of November and still have most of our boxes in the garage waiting to be unpacked. The walls are bare too. Just the furniture is moved in. I feel like it'll never get done!

I moved in May and we didn't finish one room.

I feel like every times room gets finished, something needs to be fixed/changed/updated.

For example, DD's room was 100% done, then he closet door broke/fell off he track. Now it needs to be fixed. The bathroom was newish when we moved in, then was plagued by black mold so we had to rip down the wall paper and paint.

I just can't keep up!

It's ongoing. I'm constantly at home goods and PB outlet on the hunt for new things

Two years and we still have not finished.... We still have a room with no furniture and like 3 rooms that need to be painted....

I will be here 2 years in march and the only room that is 100% done in my eyes is my sons. and the kitchen.

LR, DR, playroom, twins room, my room and den downstairs all need work. the den is a disaster.

We moved in June.

Every room is fully firnished...but, I still have nothing hanging on the walls. Lately, it's been driving me nuts! I just have a hard time committing to things.

We are in our house 3 years and not one room is complete.

2 weeks. I have OCD with some things. This being one of them.

6 months in and I am still not finished in many of the rooms

It will be 4 years in April and we are STILL decorating!! I'm doing each room slowly. The dining room is almost complete-just still need a new table and area rug. The Living room is finished. Our bedroom just needs to be painted and have new window treatments put up!

We've been here over 4 years, and while we have a lot done, I still don't feel like we're finished! Still a lot of blank walls.
