Re: How involved is your DH in your pregnancy?
He's sort of involved. He goes to all of the doctor's apts. and he's very excited because he's wanted a family for a long time. However, sometimes I think he forgets that I'm pregnant. I think this is mostly due to the fact that he thought I'd be pretty high maintenance (oh, not me! ) I've been very low key and mellow.

Re: How involved is your DH in your pregnancy?
my husband is so cute. He talks to the "babies" --he's praying for twins. He nicknamed the baby "james Jr." after him. I asked what if it is a girl? he said she's still my james jr. til she comes out.
he is so concerned with my physical wellbeing, he brings me everything, and now even cleans up the dog's room too. the doc said i shouldn't clean up behind pets.
he came to the first doctor's appt and had a billion questions.

Re: How involved is your DH in your pregnancy?
My DH has been awesome. He has been such a support system to me throughout this whole pregnancy, and I absolutely LOVE how excited he is about his baby on the way!
He doesn't really come to Dr. appointments with me anymore, but that's mostly because I get a BP check, a fetal heartrate check, and then I'm outta there.
But there's nothing cuter than when he feels my belly and says "I think this is her head" or when he talks to her as we're lying in bed.

Re: How involved is your DH in your pregnancy?
So far, DH has been extremely involved. He meets me at all my dr.'s appointments, he reads all the books, he writes in the journal with me (I kinda forced that tho.. haha.. ) and he takes care of me. I love when he walks me upstairs to go to sleep at 7:30 and tucks me in, or when he yells at me for doing too much... He knows I am good at taking care of my food needs.. and more than just my needs.. haha.. I have to start keeping that in check!

Re: How involved is your DH in your pregnancy?
I would say my DH is probably somewhere in the middle. He doesn't come to doctor appointments unless it's a planned ultrasound. There's really no point since they're usually so basic. He's not the over analyze things type of person so I generally do a lot of the research on things. He did do almost all the work on the nursery both times around though. He's a great dad, in the end that's all that matters.

Re: How involved is your DH in your pregnancy?
he's decently involved in the pregnancy i signed him up for the babycenter weekly emails and he loves to read about the growth progress and what developments are occuring. he came with me to the major sonograms and as of late he thought the laugh & learn dvd's were really informative...but sometimes i do have to nag him to show some interest!

Re: How involved is your DH in your pregnancy?
Not very involved...he did come with me to the first Dr. appt. to confirm the pregnancy and will come for the Level II. Other than that, he doesn't come to my regular check-up appts.
When DH and i were trying to get pregnant with our first child, we did watch the NOVA videos about how the sperm meets the egg, we didn't attend Lamaze class but did go on the hospital tour together. He helps me out at home with dishes and small, light chores around the house and he did pay for a house cleaner (once every 2 weeks) toward the end of the pregnancy. That was really nice!!!

Re: How involved is your DH in your pregnancy?
I don't know how to "rate" his involvement...I mean, define "involved"? Does it mean he has to talk to my belly everyday? Read books? Decorate the nursery?
He only comes to the sono appts, I don't feel the others are necessary. He read the books the first time around... registering, eh, not really time yet. Nursery? Not much to do with the actual pregnancy, IMO - that's more of a decorating thing.
He doesn't ask me how I'm feeling every 5 minutes or even once a week for that matter...he knows me, he can tell how I'm feeling.
To be honest, at first I kind of got the impression that he wasn't even really remembering that I was pregnant.
Then I realized something... suddenly I started to notice he was getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night more often than me... he was getting cravings... he was tired when I was tired and "not in mood" when I wasn't in the mood. I just smiled to myself. He's totally having sympathetic pregnancy in alot of ways. It's the cutest thing.

Re: How involved is your DH in your pregnancy?
DH has gone to most of my appts, all of the sonos, but he did miss some regular appts because of work.
In the beginning of the PG he was a little removed, he has a son with disabilities and a newphew with Down Syndrome, so he was very scared and almost seemed to not want to get too attached in case something happens. We woulnd't have terminated if we found out our child had issues, but I think the fear of not knowing was really difficult for him.
After all of our testing came back well he gradually became more involved in the PG, rubbing/kissing my belly etc. Those first few months were just really difficult for him.
He does read the PG and childbirth books and we will be taking birthing classes together.

Re: How involved is your DH in your pregnancy?
DH was very involved when I was pregnant with our first child and is the same with this baby. He goes to all my doctor appointments with me, makes sure I take my vitamins and we talk about what it will be like to have 2 children a lot.
