How do you stop a toddler from biting
So I picked my son up at daycare yesterday to only find out he bit his cousin on her arm a few times.. I mean hard core teeth marks.
The teachers separated them for a bit until they calmed down.
My son is 15 months how do you discipline a toddler? when I tell him NO, he laughs and thinks its funny
looking for suggestions, on how to teach him its bad to bite- especially before he bites other kids

Re: How do you stop a toddler from biting
That's still pretty young and biting is not uncommon at all. At that age you can only really redirect and try and figure out the cause.
Is he teething and in pain? Is he frustrated that he can't communicate? These are things you can try and address.
I mean, you can try time outs immediately after he bites, but for the most part, at 15 months, he's biting for a reason and it will hopefully be a short lived phase.

Re: How do you stop a toddler from biting
DS had 2 incidents at day care where he bit his classmates. The first time we told him it was wrong and made him repeat "No biting" over and over again. He was getting a tooth, but that wasn't an excuse to make it ok.
The second time he was also getting a tooth and he bit 3 kids. I got so angry with him! He got time out immediately when we got home where he cried hysterically. That night he also didn't get to watch his Mickey cartoons. Again, we made him repeat "no biting" all night long, and again reminded him on his way to school. He never did it again.
A few months later he actually got bitten by another child and we used that to remind him that it was not nice behavior and he should not bite his friends either.
All that being said, it's fairly common when children get upset and can't express their emotions. Unless it becomes a habit, I'd just keep reinforcing that it's bad behavior through your words and actions.
