How are you telling DH?

I know this has been done before BUT I always love hearing new creative stories!!!

I know that some of us have these BIG plans and then the moment comes and BOOM...we're yelling for DH to come and see the 2 lines or the PREGNANT on the HPT!!!

Anyhow, I'll share my plan ...
My DH is an Air Traffic Controller so he works at a very tall ATC tower on base. My plan is to make a HUGE sign saying "Congrats! You're Gonna be a Daddy Keith!" He is training down below in the radar room so he won't be up there while I prep in the parking lot! I am going to call up to the tower and have them call him up and look down into the parking lot where I'll be holding this huge sign!

I had another idea in case this lands during a very odd schedule week. DH has the worst schedule ever and it is NEVER steady. The backup plan is for me to have a "Baby on Board" tag attached to my tummy and hand him a bag with the HPT and an "I Love My Daddy" bib!

I plan on replacing his current desktop picture to a picture of DS wearing a Big Bro shirt. It will be the first thing he see's when he turns on the computer.

I would love to do something bigger but I honestly think that I wont be able to hold it in long.

I haven't thought of any ideas yet, because I feel like I'll probably run out of the bathroom, pants around ankles, screaming!

Do you imagine how you'll announce your BFP on here? I sometimes wonder how I'll do that!

I haven't thought about it at all. I guess I was probably going to say, "i'm pregnant!!!" Now I'm thinking I should be more creative.

I have been trying to figure out a good way when the time comes. I want it to be something that he can tell his friends and our future child. I just can't think of something.

Oh well....I guess I have a while anyway to think of it.

I am about to admit I am a dork. But does anyone remember in Full House how Becky told Jessie? I don't know why that episode sticks with me, and I am cheesy enough to try something like that.

I ALWAYS THINK ABOUT THAT EPISODE TOO!! I thought that was the greatest idea!! I just don't know DH would get it!! He'd probably eat and say "Yummy!!" I need a more obvious approach! Like...A BIG DARN SIGN!!!

I used to wonder whether I will go in hiding or not. I decided not to. I will just come out and say it! You'll support me no matter what happens, right?

See, DD was unplanned so I told him about it over the phone because I was too scared to see his reaction (which wasn't pretty), so I always vowed that with our second pregnancy, I'd do something special. Well, when I last got pregnant, I walked out of the bathroom looking like this & saying "I've gone nuts. I'm seeing things". DH figured it out & ran into the bathroom & looked at the test himself. So much for a spectacular surpise

I was thinking if I ever get pregnant again, I'll put the HPT in a box & tie it with pink & blue ribbon & leave a sweet note with it for him to find. Of course somehow I think it'll end up a bit more like last time.

I plan on getting one of those Willow Tree Angels that has a father holding a baby or the one of a pregnant woman! I also plan on getting the Grandparent ones for my parents! I want to do more but not sure- maybe I'll bake cupcakes and do half them with pink frosting and the other half with blue!

I haven't figured out how I will tell him yet but I will most likely just show him the test and then either:

a. Break down into Tear Fest '08
b. Go hysteric and jump around the house like a crazy person screaming "I'm PREGNANT!!!"

I thought about how I would tell my LIF-ers the other day.... remember on LIW how you would come up with funny ways of telling people you were in DD's or Single Digits? I might try something like that but, again, I might just be so excited I'll just shout it out.

I'm not going into hiding either. If something happens, I want you guys to know about it.

While I would love to do something creative and fun, it's just not in the cards for us. The only way I'm ever going to get pregnant is through IVF and we'll be finding out together when the nurse from my RE's office calls with the results of bloodwork taken to determine pregnancy.

DH has been with me every time I have tested in the past. I have even let him read the test first because he gets way too excited.

So, we will be finding out together!

All these ideas are super cute! I really like the big sign in the parking lot idea! wish I could do something like that...

my DH is from Ireland and plays gaelic football .
I bought a baby jersey from his home county..I think I'll just leave it out for him to find....if I can keep my mouth shut that long....
I have a feeling, I'll just scream I'm pregnant!..and there goes my cute idea!!!!
