Horrible day yesterday...
I wanted to thank you ladies for the hugs yesterday, it really meant alot.
I can't believe I am actually about to admit this, but here is the story...
Anthony and I have been batteling a bad cold. Yesterday, I took some cold pills (Tylenol cough and congestion) right before I gave Anthony his bottle. We were laying on the couch watching TV and I guess I fell asleep. I woke up to him crying. I look at his swing - empty. PNP - empty. Where is he?? On the floor He is ok. Not a scratch, bump or anything. I can't believe I did that, I feel like a horrible POS and I can only thank God he is fine. Immediately after I got him calm (I am still a mess) my work phone rang. It was my boss. I was let go from the company due to downsizing. I had this job for 2 1/2 yrs and I loved it. Needless to say, I made DH bring home a bottle of wine last night and watch DS.
It helped to see the support and hugs from you girls, I thank you and a special thank you to sunflowerjesss for being such a great friend.

I am sorry you had such a crappy day. One of the first nights we were home both DH and I fell asleep with him between us in the bed because he was up all night crying and we were both exhausted. We haven't told our families that either but felt horrible...........what if we rolled over on him and smooshed him?
I hope things look up for you soon with work too. 
I also am pretty sure a lot of moms out there have done similar things and it's not that anyone is a horrible mom at all.

OMG you poor thing, I know first hand how you feel, on Halloween DS took a roll and landed face down on a furry rug and was ok BUT I swear to you it took WEEEEEEKS to get over it. I was SO scared he'd have brain damage, not even kidding. You're OK, baby's OK, and that's ALL that matters, don't lose the next few days/weeks like I did over something that's SO common.

I had something similar happen. Kaydyn was on her changing table and I turned to pick up a diaper and she rolled right off. I tried to catch her, but she still ended up hitting her head on the ground. I was a mess for days about it.

So sorry you had such a bad day.
Many of us have been there.
I propped DS on the couch when he was 4 1/2 months old and bent down to tie my shoelace and boom, he fell on the floor.
My company also just laid off 60% of the staff, and although I was one of the lucky ones to stay, it's been really tough and a morbid environment.
Cherish this time to spend with your DS!!

ETA: DD rolled off the bed the other day....I still feel bad about it. I called her Ped and she said to watch her but she also reassured me and said she gets those calls all the time.

Sorry to hear about your bad day. Like the other girls said- don't beat yourself up over it. My DD wiggled out of my hands one day and fell face first on the floor - she was totally fine, but I was a mess for days afterwards.
I hope you find a new job soon.
