Re: Holy Moly *graphic Pic*

Wow.. I have never seen anything like it.. I think it's very interesting though that in the Indian culture they consider her a reincarnation of a goddess.. I hope the baby will be ok healthwise..

I don't think that poor baby is disturbing. What if your baby was siamese twins or a friend had a baby that looked like that? You wouldn't say something like that about a child you knew.

When I saw "graphic pic" I thought it was going to be raunchy, not an innocent little girl.

She's a child (a beautiful one at that) who was born with a deformity. People around her will have to look at her all the time - she's another human being. I don't find it disturbing in the least. Sure, it's abnormal and not what we see every day, but disturbing? Graphic? Causing nightmares? I just think that's the sort of prejudice this child will have to face her entire life... Chat Icon

ETA -- I think I was shocked at first when I opened this thread b/c I didn't know what to expect. So I guess from that perspective, I was a little "whoa!" when I first opened this up... but then I got over it...

See thats how I felt that is why I posted it, plus why I didn't put the *graphic pic* because I didn't find it disturbing or graphic or nightmarish, but beautiful and fascinating

I agree....she is a blessing, as is EVERY child....Chat Icon

Re: Holy Moly *graphic Pic*

I think about this baby all the time - my heart aches for her - I personally can't see how she is going to live to even young childhood with something like this - i think about her skull, her brain, etc - things have to be really deformed beyond what we can see....

I can understand why people would be disturbed by this. My mom cuold not ever see a child with a gross defomrity in the street - some people have visceral reactions like that.

I work with children with special needs,a nd once in a while a child will have something that sets him'her apart from others - some physical characteristic that could be considered disturbing to others. It is so sad....

its not a twin thing...she has something call cranial facial duplication, where the cells, as she was forming, forgot that they already formed a face and did another one

I'm just curious - why is it that we have not seen these things happen here? Between the girl with the multiple limbs (legs, I think) and now this face thing? Doe it have to do with medical care, or that maybe doctors would be able to detect this before the child is born?

Me too... IMO not a "graphic pic" at all. I feel so bad for this little girl. And some of the comments on here are horrible. Chat Icon Chat Icon

because many woman in very poor countries do not get the health care that we get here in the US.

The interviewer said that her parents wont even let her get a cat-scan to see if there is any brain damage to her. Its because most of the people are illiterate and don't understand "modern" medicine

i think she's a beautiful child... what we should learn from her is to be tolerant of others who are different from us...

This poor little girl; at least she was born into a society that worships here. I hope it stays that way.

Did they say if they were going to do anything about this? Can she survive like this? Poor baby.
