Help Me Find a Backsplash Please!

DH and I still haven't done our backsplash, largely because we can't decide what to do. We've ordered samples of a bunch but nothing's wowed us yet.

Here are some pics (a little old, from August, but you can see the colors at least). We have stainless steel appliances, absolute black granite counter tops, beech cabinets, brown ceramic tile w/ charcoal gray grout and the walls are BM Philadelphia Cream.

We were originally set on glass tile but we've tried both dark dark to go with the granite and a light random mix and neither really 'did' it.

Ideas, pictures - anything appreciated!

Re: Help Me Find a Backsplash Please!

For your kitchen, I would go with some sort of Slate.

Check out this website:
I like SS782 for your backsplash

I think a stone looking backsplash would work better than tile with your color palate.

I think you're both right re: natural stone rather than tile. I have these in my shower, so we don't want to 'repeat' the color but would doing natural stone as the backspash repeat the theme too much?

I like the idea of doing a stone backsplash. I would try to find something that matches your floor tiles.

I would do a light brown mix that picks up the color in the floor, but def. NOT black

What about a mixture of black/dark tile with two shades of lighter tan set on a diagonal? I can't find a pic but it's the tile that is dull and textured..the name escapes me, sorry.

I love the small glass tiles in varying colors. You could find some that went with your colors easily and I think it could be a great added color

No I dont think so. It looks fine now with your granite black and the tiles brown. You could do a lighter shade than your floor tile or even a dark tan if you dont want to do brown.

I just wouldnt go too light cuz they may blend in too much with your cabinets.

My sister has similiar colors and she used the same tile for both the floor and the backsplash and it came out really nice

she was a little more of a clay color but I think the backsplash to match your floor would look nice

Those tiles remind me of mine....and I think they would work with your kitchen too.

Re: Help Me Find a Backsplash Please!

My backsplash would probably go with your kitchen too.

We have Dark cherry Floors

Black counter

Oak Cabinets

The backsplash is copper slate -- I got them from Home Depot - They come 6 to a box and they are $6 a box. We used a Grey Non Sanded grout.
