Backsplash
I know this is kind of an "it depends" question, but for those of you that installed backsplash in your kitchen...was it very expensive? Like over $1000? We would also be probably hiring someone to install it. We've been doing some things to the house before moving in and if it's kind of on the expensive side, we might just wait awhile. TIA!!

Re: Backsplash
we had a blacksplash installed. I think the tiles cost us about $200 and the installation about $300
it was a very simple backsplash and the tiles were pretty inexpensive.
Here are some pictures...

Re: Backsplash
It entirely depends on what you put up as the backsplash. You can def put in a nice backsplash and not have it set you back alot of $$. We went with a marble backsplash and our kitchen is on the large side so it cost us quite a bit.

Re: Backsplash
We had our backsplash done - We did Copper Slate Tiles - We bought the tiles from home depot for $120 and had our contractor do the install for $350.
It came out awesome

Re: Backsplash
Depends upon price of the tiles, square footage and design. If you want them cut on the diagonal or any other design you will need more tiles as there is more waste. It's also a bit more difficult to do so most installers charge about $1-2 more a square foot for installation.
I can only find the invoice for my tile that states price per square foot (we got contractor's discount) and our backsplash is 30 square feet. Our installation was $350. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Backsplash
Danielle/Scott, can you give me the name of that contractor. That price seems great and the tiles are just what I am looking for in a backsplash. LOVE IT!

Re: Backsplash
Thank you, everyone! Great pictures. Tah-Wee-Zah, your color tiles and design are actually exactly what I have pictured. Would you mind letting me know who you used if possible? Thanks!

Re: Backsplash
I can't recommend my tile contractor. My FIL is a kitchen designer and the tile guy was "less than professional" with not only our house but my general contractor's son's house (father and son have a contracting business but don't like to do their own tile work). The work was good it's just that he lied a few times and stayed out late one night and didn't show up for the job the next morning. My FIL doesn't tolerate one screw up from anyone. The guy is a real idiot because he has just kissed away thousands and thousands of dollars of business that he will never get from my FIL and his main installer. He does tile work on the side (weekends) and they will never call him again.
I know my FIL has someone new. I can ask him tomorrow for the info.
I also have the order information on the backsplash and coordinating floor. We got it from Old Country Road Tile.
FM me if you want any more info.
