Re: Heating Oil users
We locked in with Petro in Sept. with a $3.819 ceiling price. When we got our first delivery a few weeks ago, the price/gallon that day was $3.59 but they charged us the $3.81 anyway because they charge a .35 cent 'premium' for having a ceiling plan....which they neglected to inform us about when we signed the contract

Yep, you basically are paying insurance on every gallon. It's ridiculous. We dropped the ceiling plan and will risk it this year.

unfortunately, I think that's pretty much the going rate without a contract. We called a few companies a couple months ago, and we got quotes for $3.79 - 3.99, but stayed with Slomins because they gave us a discount since we used them last year.
I have a contract for service...but I use the same ppl for the oil and frankly they're pretty expensive. I wonder if I can go with an outside company for oil, but just keep the current company for the service?
I know Petro will not let you. I called them last month asking the same question. The service contract is void if you get oil from another party.
They also will NOT let you get off automatic delivery. I wanted to have them not deliver until I call, but they won't do that either.

We are locked with slomins for 2.89 but our contract is up 11/20! I have no idea what we are going to do, oil has increased so much There are no gas lines here so no hope of converting anytime soon
This is us almost word for word but we expire 12/15. I'm terrified!

We had 2.59/gal which expired on 10/31 so we got our last fill up with that price!
We signed a contract about 2 weeks ago with Romanelli and capped at 3.49/gal. My FIL just called and its now 3.69/gal
