Having a meltdown
Sitting at my desk & I'm ready to cry! Blame it on hormones...from being preggo or getting AF.. But im wondering how on earth are we ever going to afford a baby.
DH makes ok $$...me, on the other hand hasnt had a raise in 3 years and has had my pay cut a 1/2 hr each day for the last year. And like so many others, we definitely live paycheck to paycheck
Makes me soo scared

Re: Having a meltdown
Is there anything extra you can do now to prepare before you have another? Side job etc?

Re: Having a meltdown
I do have a side business thats something i love to do, but it's really not like a part time job. It's extra cash here and there.
As for a part time job, DH works crazy hours & I'm the only one who is around to take care of the home/food/laundry..not enough time in the day :(

Re: Having a meltdown
I understand. Are there any extras you can cut out? Lower your cell phone plan, cable etc?

Re: Having a meltdown
I worry about the same thing. Pretty much in the same boat as you. I also freak out how we will survive when hopefully someday I am on maternity leave...I will be out of pay and have no idea how we will pay our bills. You just have to keep positive and everything will work out.

Re: Having a meltdown
I feel the same as you!
I'm trying to save as much $$ as i can now so that when DC comes we have a little cushion in case things are tight.
Maybe write a list of all your expenses and see what you can cut out?
I was getting my hair done recently and read the newest copy of Parents magazine. They had a great article about saving money by cutting common expenses. Like getting rid of a landlines; bundling your cell phone w/DH; no more dry cleaning-buy the fabric sheet that allows you do it at home. And a bunch of other tips i just can't remember.
I found this link but not sure if it's the same tips as the article Parents Magazine
what gets me through the money fears about having a baby; is that people w/a lot less do it. And they get by! Maybe not the best mentality to have but there are ways to cut costs; save some money. I had a friend who saved $$ buying his kids pampers online. he saved SO much compared to what they cost in BBRU or BBB!
