Have Your Religious Beliefs Been Challanged
Since 09/11? Did these events strengthen your belief in a higher power or did it make you question the idea of "God" on such a tragic day?
This is a very personal question, so feel free to not answer it.

Re: Have Your Religious Beliefs Been Challanged
I went back and forth asking myself why god would allow something like this to happen but I think not only this has made me question my beliefs.

Re: Have Your Religious Beliefs Been Challanged
I was questioning my beliefs well before. 9/11 solidified them for me.

Re: Have Your Religious Beliefs Been Challanged
For me 9/11 really strenghtened the belief that evilness is all aound us and very very powerful. God does not allow bad things to happen, He gave us the ability to make our own choices, and with each choice there are consequences. It makes me more sad that we have such evilness in our world and that people actually chose to hurt others.

Re: Have Your Religious Beliefs Been Challanged
9/11 and other events have had me questioning my beliefs for a while. But I need something to hold on to.
ETA: Every day is hard enough to get through sometimes. I would be worse off if I didn't believe that "God" or some higher power had a plan for me. If I really sat down and thought that our lives are just a series of circumstances and that we bounce from one thing to another with no path I'd lose my mind.

Re: Have Your Religious Beliefs Been Challanged
I believe that God gave us free will and didn't "allow" 9/11 to happen...

Re: Have Your Religious Beliefs Been Challanged
It certainly has made me wonder, although I didn't have very strong faith to begin with. What always gets me is that the people who caused 9/11 believe God is on their side. In most wars, both sides believe God is on "their" side. They can't both be right. JMO
