Has anyone ever gotten an internal sono?

My Dr. sent me for one. i went this morning. It was a routine sono for preconception to make sure everything was ok since we've been trying for 4months and im 32 years old.

The tech kept pressing on my right side and took like 6 pics of my right side but only like 2 on my left. Now Im afraid something was there on the right side!! Of course she can't tell me anything so now Im nervouse!!!!Chat Icon

I've had like a million of them!

I wouldn't worry yet. Sometimes one side can be more difficult to see than the other... and they need to keep moving the want just to make sure they can see everything they need to see.

I agree.
I wouldn't worry about it.

I had one technician tell me I only had 1 ovary during my miscarriage. I thought, " great, where the H E L L did it go? I know I had 2 a couple months ago! Now I'm leaving here with no baby and down 1 ovary!!"
Another technician came in and said, " there it is!" Chat Icon

I think it's difficult to see sometimes & some technicians are better than others.

When you are PG, the 1st sono are internal. They can't see the sac/embryo that early on with the regular sono.

Yeah I knew that when you are preggers you get them for the first few months. i was concerned that the tech concentrated on one side over the other side.

oh sweety - DO NOT WORRY....

before conception i had one as well and they had a HARD time finding my left ovary....(they still do)...in fact now - they don't bother trying to find it - because it HURTS when they look.

My RE told me that if you are overweight (i love that he said that and didn't go with FAT) - that sometimes one ovary is harder to find than the other - because it tends to be higher up...

It's normal! It could be the angle. I would not worry about that! Chat Icon

Also, it could have been that you were ovulating from your right ovary and they wanted to get more pictures of your right side for that reason. That happened to me my first internal sono. They said they saw a cyst on one ovary that they were concerned about, but it just turned out to be a normal luteal cyst. Don't worry!

I've had them, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Re: Has anyone ever gotten an internal sono?

I've only had them during my pregnancy but the Dr (not a tech) had trouble finding one of my ovaries at my first sono. It was there though Chat Icon It's totally common, don't worry Chat Icon

Re: Has anyone ever gotten an internal sono?

Definitely do not worry. If there was something there someone would have said something.

The sono tech always has a problem with my left ovary - he says it's "camera shy". He's a funny guy.
