If you are on the pill then you should NOT be ovulating and def not have a positive O test. So either you're pregnant or you're ovulating through the pill which isn't good and you can become prego.
Actually now that i know it was an OPK, that means it wasn't positive because i believe the line has to be just as dark as control line to be considered positive, and it was not...thank goodness.
This is NOT true.
In any case, you are on the pill and the test line should not even be close to as dark as the control line.
I mean, enjoy the holiday however you want, but I would want to know for sure myself

If you take your pill every day and are not taking antibiotics, shouldn't it be effective???????
Why would anyone ovulate if they are taking the pill?

If you become pregnant while taking the minipill, it may be difficult to recognize the signs and symptoms of pregnancy. In addition, if you do conceive there's a slightly higher chance that the pregnancy will be ectopic — when the fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, usually in a fallopian tube.
The minipill won't protect you from sexually transmitted infections, and it may be less effective than combination birth control pills.

This. The only way to prevent pregnancy with a 100% effective rate is abstinence. There is always a chance, even with birth control taken correctly, that it will fail.
Take a test before you take another pill just in case.

if she took an OPK and it wasn't positive, theres nothing wrong with that.
#1 - we have random amounts of LH in our body at any given time, on the pill or not. if the OPK wasnt positive, it wasn't a surge which is perfectly normal at any time.
#2 - the hormones in the pill could cause the OPK to show the line (not a positive reading).
some people do ovulate through the pill. its not super common but it def happens (ask anyone who has done the pill prior to IVF - it DEF happens). the pill works by stopping ovulation but it also thins the uterine lining so if in fact you do ovulate through - the chances of implantation are lower with the thin lining. furthermore it makes CM thicker and less sperm-friendly.
anyway i would still take an HPT but IMO just being nauseous and getting a negative OPK that shows a line I wouldn't jump to conclusions. while it is absolutely possible, the nausea could be caused by almost anything (even caused by the pill itself) and a line on an OPK that's not positive is virtually meaningless. good luck!

My sister in law got pregannat on the pill right after 9/11.
Her doctor said they say 5 patients that week on thr pill and pregnant.
Stress can cause the pill to fail. In the past few weeks with Newtown, life has been stressful.

wow, regardless of my situation, i cannot believe how many people get pregnant on pill..that's pretty scary.
i've been on it for years, and never had any issues.
And i am one of those people who gets annoyed when people say they had an "accident".....lol.

my sister had this "scare" 2x and both times her OBs advised her to stop taking the pill until she was ready to take the test.

I took my pill religiously, was not on antibiotics etc. and managed to get pregnant on the pill. 1 out of every 100 women gets pregnant while on the pill! It's a lot!

thanks all, but as it turns out i think i may have the flu..i've had chills all day and i just took temp and its 101.5.
Still not sure why i was gagging when brushing teeth, but maybe its related to not feeling well.

Maybe I'm not reading this thread right, but it seems like you are scared to take a test. If you are pregnant, you'll need to find out sooner or later so you can stop taking the pill. Even if you have a fever and chills, you might not have the flu-why not rule pregnancy out?
Go and get a pg test, you'll know for sure. Otherwise you're just prolonging the agony of not knowing.
