Happy, but yet sad
I am a regualr poster but cannot vent as I promised my little sis I would keep her secret.
She's Pregnant!
And she would like to keep it a secret until 12 weeks.
I am so happy for her, but at the same time I am a bit sad, DH and I have been trying for such a long time. She tries once and BOOM, PG!
I am so excited for her, her DH and to be an aunt. But begin to wonder why not me?
I know totally selfish, but I figured if anyone could understand where I was coming from it would be you girls!
thanks for listening and always being an amazing source of support.

I feel your pain... and no, you're not being selfish... if you wished ill-will, that'd be a different story - hang in there...

Re: Happy, but yet sad
I had already been trying with some difficulty for about 5 months when my baby sister announced she was pregnant. I had the same feelings, especially since she announced it right after we got the news from the doctor it would be difficult for me to conceive.
It's perfectly normal to feel this way.

Re: Happy, but yet sad
I'm sooo sorry and totally feel your pain. I have an older sister by 7 years. She can get preganant from breathing the air. Ok... that's being a little exagerating, but I'm somewhat serious. She is now pergo with her 4th. Here's the situation... My sister was married to a guy who became a jerk, but they had three beautiful children then they got divorced. She started dating again and got prego while dating her now husband (they got married while she was prego)... now she's due any day now. Although when I first heard the news I was hysterical b/c I knew DH and I were trying and she was divorced and putting her life back together. I'm okay with it now and so excited for her, but at first it was hard b/c I really thought I'd be next... we're still trying.
Sorry so long

Re: Happy, but yet sad
I'm sorry. I completely understand. My BFF told me she was pg and we always planned on having our babies together. It was all I could do not to cry in her face. I am soooo happy for her bc I love her so much. As soon as we hung up the phone I was uncontrolably sobbing. But then I just thought to myself that this is her time and mine will come. It just never gets any easier.

Re: Happy, but yet sad
It is ok to feel the way you do We all become very sensitive to the PG topic when we are trying. You always have that inside jealousy especially when you hear of someone that is close to you. Don't get down on yourself for feeling this way, it is totally normal

Re: Happy, but yet sad
I've been there sweetie- 3 times now (2 SILs) and getting ready to be 4 I believe. It's not that you're not happy for her- you're just not happy for you- which is totally understandable and acceptable. Do NOT feel guilty for allowing your self to feel the way that you do- it's natural and healthy. Your time will come, keep the faith.

Re: Happy, but yet sad
I know what you mean. We just found out that DH's Step-brother and wife are expecting.
They've only been trying for 2 months or so. We've been trying for 9. So I hope I get PG soon so I don't feel left out.
