Hand preference
I went to my mom's school on Tuesday and 2 different people pointed out that my DD is reaching more with her left hand and will be left handed. She is 6 months old... Isn't it a little early for her to have hand preference?

Hand preference
Dd uses both hands but her left more. I think it's to early to tell if they will be right or left handed

I agree. I think bc I am right handed and hand her things with my right she is more inclined to take with her left (or reach with both which she does a lot too).

I would think it's too early to tell. Although, my DD has always favored her left hand and still does at 22 months. I guess we'll see.

From birth my DD favored her right hand, she would always ONLY suck her right thumb. She would reach for things and pick things up with mostly her right hand.
She's 5 now, she's right handed.

Way too early to tell. At 6 months DS used his left hand all the time. At 1 year he started using his right hand more. But it's still too early to tell for him.

DH thanks DD wil be left-handed because that's what she uses more of now at 7 mos, but I agree that it's too early to tell.

My older son favored his left hand as a baby and toddler. We thought he would be a lefty, like daddy, but around 3 when he started trying to write he only grabbed a pencil with his right hand. So he is a righty now. But he started playing hockey at 4 and he uses a lefty stick there.
I think I read you can't REALLY tell until over the age of 2

Hand preference
6 months is probably too young to say for sure. With that being said, DS will be 2 next week and I would bet my life he is right handed. I have known this since probably shortly after a year as he never uses his left hand for anything. I am a lefty (as is almost all of my immediate family) and I have always paid extra close attention to what hand he favors.
