Hair Highlights Poll

Is it ok to get my hair highlighted at 9 weeks. My doctor said no and wait till 13 weeks. But I know many say it is ok. I have an appt on Tuesday and my guy is so hard to get into….my roots are dark and my grays are badddd! But i will wait if dangerous.

Re: Hair Highlights Poll

My dr. said it was fine from the beginning because the dye doesn't sit on the scalp.

Re: Hair Highlights Poll

I got it done when I was pregnant with DS#1. I think I was 6 or 7 weeks pregnant. My dr never said I couldn't and the hairstylist said it was better than just straight dye because it doesn't touch your scalp. I made sure to tell her that I was expecting so that she was extra careful not to touch my skin.

Re: Hair Highlights Poll

If your Dr said no there may be a reason he or she did... Maybe due to your personal health history or maybe from your Drs experience he or she has their reasons... I understand other drs say its ok but i would personally listen to what my dr tells me...

I understand your stylist is hard to get in with but whats more important to you? And its only about waiting a few more weeks until your in your second trimester...

I dont know thats just my opinion...

My dr told me 2nd trimester as well...

Re: Hair Highlights Poll

On the printed materials pack the doctor said "you may dye your hair" I'd follow my doctors recommendations though.
