Grandma Alternatives?
So my mom just informed me that she doesn't want to by Grandma, but doesn't know what she wants to be.
Nanny and Nan are taken by mine and DH's grandmas.
Do you ladies have any ideas?
TIA

Re: Grandma Alternatives?
Get this...my parents want to be called:
Maggie and Dude.
That's the response I get whenever I ask them what they want to be called.
My mom's name is Margaret, so there's the Maggie.
And my dad is just a looney toon!!

Re: Grandma Alternatives?
We called my maternal grandmother Maw and my paternal grandmother Grammar (which was funny b/c she was an english teacher and I just popped it out one day)

Re: Grandma Alternatives?
I told my MIL that I was going to teach Nate to call her "Big Momma." She wasn't very thrilled with the idea.

Re: Grandma Alternatives?
Jillian calls my mom and dad Mema and Pepa we just said it one day and it stuck She calls Il's Grandma and grandpa
But she does know that my parents are ":grandma and grandpa too"
I used to call my grandfather " Uncle Daddy" he told my mother when my sister was born that he was not old enough to be a grandfather so my sister was supposed to call him Uncle Jay but i have an aunt who is 2 years older than my sister and used to call him Daddy ( which he was to her) and my sister just put two and two together and started calling him Uncle Daddy
