 this reminds me of that cosby episode when claire didnt want to be called grandma when sandra had the twins, she wanted to me called "MOTHER THE SEQUEL",

we have 3 sets of grandparents, i am sure my poor child is not going to be able to remember all the names, so far my IL's are nanny and papa. my mom wants mima, and i dont know about my step-father, my dad and stepmom, my dad wil prob just be grandpa, my step mom keeps joking she wants to be grandmama LOL

My mom is Mema- and my dad is grandpa or pop..
My grandma is Oma (German for Grandma)
Some others that my friends families use: Nonna, Nonnie, Ya-ya & PaPou (greek)

Guess I went to the traditional route as a child...I just called my grandparents Grandma & Grandpa.

My mom is Nana, DH's mom is #$^#&, I mean Grandma.
My grandmother (whom I didn't know) was Nanny.

Also, Oga-she made that one up herself-and Poppy
We used to use Grandma, Nanny and Mom Mom.

What about seeing what the kids call them when they are old enough to talk? My daughter named my mom Gay-Gay, and while it is so silly, it has stuck and that's what we call her now. Maybe when she's older we'll switch back to Grandma.
