Re: Good Sam questions
(sent to soon)...
Do they have priviate rooms and is it first come first served or can you pay?
Also I don't think DH can stay overnight, right? But he can come whenever? Like if he came at 8am or 10pm? DH won't be taking off work til I come home but he wants to be able to visit for a bit before and after work and he works crazy hours. He wanted to stay over but I know even if he could it would be uncomfortable and we only live about 15 mins away tops. He is upset he won't be able to take off that week the babies are born but he can only take off the day they are born and for one week so I think it's better he takes off when I need him and he can actually spend time with them at home.

Re: Good Sam questions
I had a private room. I think because there weren't alot of deliveries that weekend and bc my twins were in the NICU and I had issues where I couldn't see them. I got a roommate the day I was leaving around 5pm
I think visiting hours for the husbands were over at 10. I am not sure how much they enforced it but honestly by that time we were both exhausted and wanted to get some sleep so he always left at that time or earlier. Not sure about the am though.
I agree with you much better for you dh to take off when you get home rather than when you are in the hospital.

Re: Good Sam questions
I don't know how late they'd let your husband come if you do have a roommate. I'm just thinking from the roommate's POV, I wouldn't want my roomie's husband hanging out late at night when i was trying to sleep, kwim? I don't think you can pay for a private room and there are only 2 of them. You can probably request one and I'm sure it's first come first sever, or if they're needed for a special reason, etc.

Re: Good Sam questions
I had a private room, and DH slept on a pull out recliner next to me for 7 nights straight No one ever said a word. In fact, they offered to bring him pillows.
My advice, as soon as you get there, inquire about private rooms, its first come, first serve.

He doesn't want to visit me per say. It would be moreso the babies in the nursery. There are 2 days a week where he goes into work early and gets out at 9 so I know he wont go a day without seeing them. (If I were there for those days)

Good Sam questions
DH stayed as late as 11 but the started to shoo him after that. Private rooms are hard to come buy cause they don't have many and save them for people who need them. My dr tried and couldn't get me one.
They might not let you DH there early cause that's when they take the babies to the nursery for daily testing etc

Good Sam questions
I didn't have a private room but I never had a roommate. I was there from Sun-Weds. I had visitors at all times of day. My DH was able to stay until 10-11 at night and come as early as he wanted but he never came before 8am.
