Gift Card From Boss
One of the managers at work gave all the women in the office gift cards to Victoria's Secret as a holiday gift. It seems a bit inappropriate, no?

I would find it pretty creepy. At the same time I could easily use it to buy some sweatpants or hoodies and then go use a target gc someone else gave me to buy some bras and nightgowns. Even still, I definitely wouldn't find it an appropriate gift for a manager to a subordinate nor for a male to give a female.

Not nearly as inappropriate as so many assuming the manager is a man. While it totally could be, the fact that women are jumping to the conclusion that manager=man is more repulsive than the gift card, IMO.

I think the way the post is worded sort of insinuates that it's a man...if a female boss or coworker gave me a gc to VS I wouldn't think it to be inappropriate, maybe a little strange....but from a man to "all the women" in the office is kind of creepy. That's why I think most assumed it's a man.

So an assumption due to wording on a message board is more inappropriate than an actual action? Really?
Moving on, I think it's an inappropriate gift for a business relationship.

I think it is beyond inappropriate no matter the sex of the giver or the receiver.
Like someone else said, there are SO MANY other places to give to.
Especially in the climate of what has been going on lately, who the heck would do this???? It is bizarre.

LOL me too.
Back in the day I used to buy my entire wardrobe from VS, and I never once bought any lingerie there. I would have LOVED a gift card there because I was always buying my clothes from their catalog. They had the BEST pants
Sadly, they have stopped selling their clothing so the gift card would have to be used for PJs or sweats/yoga pants, but that's fine with me!
If my boss gave me a pair of panties and a bra from there, yeah I'd be freaked out, but a gift card, nah.
It's not like it was a gift card to Sex Toys R Us or anything....

I think its fine. Not many people buy intimate apparel from them as much anymore....I would get pjs, stuff from PINK or lotions, etc.

That's what I was thinking. It's a store for women, so it's a gift for women. I mean, the manager didn't hand out thongs to the female employees!

Yes, he's a man. I'm in a male dominated field, so there are about 5 women and 30 men in the office. I don't think he got anything for the men.
I'm not really offended, but I did think it was a bit inappropriate. But, I'll still use it!
