I don't think "running away" is a bad thing....getting away where you aren't bombarded by questions from friends and family could be very helpful to you! Also being together and supporting each other through this is most important..... Good luck with everything!

glad you were able to get some explanations and now you sort of know where to go from here. Take as much time as you need away from everything! it is not a bad thing it is great that you DH is also very supportive and is trying to help both of you through this situation. I will still keep you in my thoughts and prayers and wishing you all the best

Actually, i think its a perfect idea to get away. Youve been through a lot in the last few days and some down time will be good to sort things out for yourselves... come to terms with it and figure out how to go forward!

I completely agree. Try to relax with DH, even though you will have a lot on your mind, since you're stuck waiting for the next test anyway you might as well do something to distract yourselves. Keeping you and your LO in my prayers!!!

Not silly at all. You have to do what you have to do. Sometimes it helps to just get away and clear your mind a bit. I hope it helps and I hope you have good news soon!

Re: genetics and sono today**UPDATE in first post**
FWIW, my NT scan looked ok with my 2nd pregnancy, but combined with the blood work, my risk of Trisomy 13/18 went from about 1/800 to 1/400. I was still within the "normal" range, but was given the option to meet with the genetic counselor, have additional testing, etc.
The meeting with the genetic counselor didn't make me feel better either. She did say that every pregnancy was different so I wouldn't necessarily have similar concerns with other pregnancies. She told me that the levels of both of the hormones tested were very low and that was disconcerting. She told me that it could be an indication of growth issues/placenta problems later on in the pregnancy. It definitely scared me. Based on that blood work and the AFP test, I ended up getting growth sonos every 4 weeks with a perinatologist and was monitored closely during the last 2 months by my OB. DS was born perfectly healthy.
I hope everything is ok. It's so hard not to think about things. The tests were perfect with my first pregnancy and it was such a shock to get the news for my second. I was up many nights just thinking about the what ifs. Hang in there. I hope you get answers soon.

I think getting away is a GREAT idea.
I wish there was something i/we could say or do. Just know this, whatever is best for you and your husband is what is best.
There are always chances things work out fine but there are always chances that things wont be perfect.
Keep us posted if you want and know we are here for you to vent or whatever you need.
Will be praying for strength for you.

I want to send lots of prayers to you and your LO and DH. I feel so bad that you are going through this. I am around your age and meeting with the counselor, Mabel was so nerve-racking until my results came back. Hang in there and whatever happens I hope nothing but the best for your family

Thank you all again. I liked Mabel But what I/we did not like was that all she talked about was the bad stuff, nothing that maybe it would be ok. I'm not sure if there not suppose to give you false hope. I even asked what the chance was of it resolving on its own and felt she danced Around it
But we are having a good time away and it is distracting. We ended up in Baltimore and will be going to DC from here.

What I was told by my Dr she is not doing her job correctly if she is not putting a little fear behind what she is saying to you. There are tests out there that are false positives and my SIL had the same thing happen to her. She had an amnio done and everything turned out just fine Enjoy your time away and know that Will be with you always!

Re: genetics and sono today**UPDATE in first post**
Well them she definitely did her job right bc she scared the bejesus out of us! I did feel she was very very thorough and explained things well.
I'm praying that the blood somehow screwed everything but can't deny the measurement they got. Just hoping its smaller when I go Wednesday and the CVS is negative.
I don't know how ill get through next few weeks to wait for results I'm an anxious person as it is and this is making my anxiety go to another level. I just wish I had a fast forward button, but then I'm sure anyone in a situation like this wishes for that I'm trying to keep positive but it's hard
