genetics and sono today**UPDATE in first post**
Our appointment is in a half hour and I'm walking on eggshells. I've never been so nervous for anything in my life. Got about an hour sleep last night.
Thank you to all who expressed support an the kind words yesterday. I will reply to the FM I received.

**UPDATE
What a day. Intook so much information.
So first we had a very intensive sono and one thing I am taking away from that is the fold (translucency at back lf neck) measured 5.2 not 6.5 ad the tech at my doctors office mismeasured. It doesn't change anything when normal is less than 2 (I think 2 maybe it's 3 but my brain is a little fried right now).
Then we met with the genetics counselor, Mabel for about an hour and a half. She explained everything very detailed to us and answered all questions.
Now the news. Our risk of Downs is 1/11 so very high for my age (33 tomorrow). BUT our risk for it being something else cromosonal such as trisomy 13 or 18 or Noonans or Turners is also very high. They don't screen for all the syndromes at the NT scan with the bloodwork but do look at the bloodwork for 13 an 18 and I was about 1/897 for those. She didn't bring us any relief and actually prepared us for it being some type of cromosonal syndrome. I know they have to prepare you for the worse but it seems as if our chance of it being not a cromosome thing are slim.
Now what might be the worse part being that this occurred she also stated that we are at higher risk for future pregnancy's of it happening again but they do not know how high a risk until they figure out what type of cromosonal abnormality it is.
IF it is not a cromosonal thing then it could very well be a heart defect which they don't know how serious until at least 18 weeks.
The good news is that they will be running a full chromosome test and test for everything they will also be doing more blood work to find out if I'm a carrier for anything as my dad is adopted and we do not know his history.
CVS is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 with Dr Bergerman at Madonna in Brightwaters. I just want it to be over with so we can deal with whatever we learn. We will know preliminary results by Friday and the rest 7-10 days after
DH and I have decided to pack up the car and head out of town for a few days to try to clear our heads. We're gonna disconnect for a while and turn phones off for the most part. I will check in here now and then. It might seem silly to some to "run away" but right now I need it more than anything. A change of scenery to clear our heads and hopefully occupy s for a few days.
