Frustrated!
I went off BCP last april and I ovulated once in the past ten months... I Know that's normal after going off BCP, but will ob/gyn's do anything about it or do you think that they will just say to wait it out? It's so frustrating, I don't have PCOS or anything, so I just wanted to see if this had happened to anybody else - thanks!

Re: Frustrated!
I'm sorry, but ovulating once in the past 10 months is not normal. Your body does not take that long to regulate. I would discuss this with your GYN and go from there.
ETA: You've only had AF once in the past 10 months correct?

Re: Frustrated!
I know it's not normal to only ovulate once, but I know it takes a while to regulate.. Yeah, I spotted for about half a day on two different occasions, but it was mostly a brown discharge, not red (sorry TMI) Thanks for your response!

I agree, its definitely not normal. How do you know you don't have PCOS?

Re: Frustrated!
just remember the pill masks problems. I never even knew of PCOS and was only on the pill for a year. Prior to being on the pill my cycles were like clockwork, down to the time of day. After my first AF off the pill (35 days) I did not get AF again for 70 days. And I only got AF b/c the doctor gave me provera to bring it on. I was also diagnosed with PCOS at that time as well.

I have been tested in the past for it a few times, but they didn't think that I had it.. I'm sure that things change and I possibly do have PCOS, so I guess we'll see.. I have a few issues that could be contributing to it (thyroid issues, eating disorder in the past, etc), I'm sure that it's a lot of things combined, but I just wish I knew what it was! Thank you

Re: Frustrated!
Thyroid issues will DEFINITELY cause problems with your cycles. I agree with the PP- there is likely more going on here than irregular cycles from coming off BCP.

Re: Frustrated!
Depending on how impatient you are getting about TTC, you might want to consider seeing a RE for an evaluation. The RE will look at all possible issues that might be interfering with your ovulation including PCOS and thyroid issues. GL!
