Friends Houses

If you went to a friends house and it was gross and dirty, would you say something? Not just messy, but actually dirty, make you not even want to use the bathroom dirty.

Chat Icon have you seen my house!

My house is a mess, but it's not dirty. Just has lots of toys and kid stuff all over, everywhere!!

I wouldn't say anything, but like a pp said, I probably wouldn't go back!

Re: Friends Houses

No way- because who am I to talk?
I don't clean.
My house is dirty too....until my hubby gets fed up and cleans.

I mean it's not to the point of a health hazzard like some people have described here- but I just don't clean as often as I should...
I'm just not good at that kind of stuff....

Plus honestly- it's none of anyone's business how clean or dirty another person's house is....

I definitely wouldn't say anything. My house is not dirty but it is always messy because my daughter is too spoiled and has too much stuff (Thanks Grandma) and it's all over the place.

Re: Friends Houses

I have a friend who's home is dirty.. I mean, cat hair inches high on the furniture, garbage overflowing in the kitchen garbage can, greasy grime on the appliances, clothes all over the floor in the bedroom & who knows the last time those sheets were washed.. yuck, just thinking about it.

I try NEVER to go over there, I have NEVER eaten from her house, & if I must use the bathroom I use tissue to touch everything. Once I suggested she get a cleaning lady & she brushed it off as a joke.

I agree with this. If it was my best friend that I have been friends with since i was 5 I would say something. Sometimes a mess can just snowball and be overwhelming. When your house is a mess it can be depressing. A little help to get started may be all they need.

If I wasn't bff I would never say anything I would avoid her house at all costs and suggest we always meet at a restaurant.

Re: Friends Houses

I've been in this situation.

I didn't say anything to them, nor will I in the future. It's their home, not mine.

I was grossed out, and I don't wish to return. The house is so dirty, my allergies kick in and I can't breathe. Between the cigarette smoke, the pet dander and the mold, my throat starts to close up. And those are just the "air" problems. The visuals only make it worse.
