Fresh Mozzerella in Brick Oven Pizza
I had brick oven pizza for lunch today from a new pizzerria and now I'm scared that I shouldn't have eaten the cheese because it was fresh mozzerella and I'm not sure if it was pasteurized or not..
Should I be concerned?

Most of the time they pasturize it. I asked the one that I usually go to and they said it is. You should be fine, especially if it was only 1 time!

Ok thanks...i feel better now! 
By the way the pizza was great. I went to Luzzo's in Westbury just opened up last week. The pizza is reallly good!

Unless they own cows and get their milk that way. Mozzarella is made from pasteurized milk.

I checked with my dr on this last week because Umbertos in Wantagh makes THE best Grandma's pie with fresh mozz. I don't think I could make it 6 more months with no Grandma's! My dr said as long as it is cooked, it is fine.

I lived on pizza during my pregnancy and everything turned out fine besides these days everything is pasteurized.

so glad to hear this i had the most amazing grilled goat cheese sandwhich that came on the side with a tomato soup last week. it was like a day or 2 before i got my BFP but of course i was nervous anyway just thinking about the goat cheese...thanks girls. glad to know the cooked cheese is ok!

Just so you know, as long as it is pausterized (most are) it is fine. The concern is that it would not be pausterized.
