they finally gave him some water. Thank G*D!! He did fine. They are now giving him puree and jello and watching him to make sure he doesn't aspirate.
Now he is having dialysis done and he had an accident in bed (they don't let him out of bed) so he was humilated. he knows he can do this and he has to be in this position. Poor guy. This is so not cool.
I said I would be happy if he was sitting up in bed eating jello. Well it happened. I'm happy. I'm just anxious for him to be better. Day by day right?
Social worker hasn't called back yet to talk about getting him assessed for rehab.

I wish this process didn't take so long. The more he's in the hospital the less good it does him.

There are steps he needs to take before going to rehab and he's doing great so far. Stay positive.
And unfortunately, this is only the beginning of a very long road.

I know. This is a nightmare.
This does not sound positive 
I know it stinks, but he IS on the road to recovery. And that IS because of all you've done for him.
Continue to stay stong and it will get better. It will be a long road, but not as rough.

I heard from the social worker. We are sending his stuff out to 8 places.
Mt. Sinai is supposed to be excellent. I have two contacts there too that could help.
