How do you do it? Do you premake your bottles? Do you make a pitcher of formula? Did you do this at a different age?

My DR said do not make a pitcher as it introduces germs into the formula while it sits. But, I just wonder when DD starts eating 5 oz, I will continually have to make 6 oz bottles and waste the last oz or is there a way to modify the scoop?

I made pitchers since i started feeding formula at 3 weeks old. It was just easier for me. Now at 9 months he usually has 6oz or 4 oz bottles so i just make bottles as he needs them since we are always on the go now.

I make mine an hr or so ahead. I don't think it's possible to accurately measure 5 oz so I make 6 and if she drinks the whole thing it's fine.

I made mine as needed. Even in the middle of the night. I never wanted to refrigerate cause I never wanted to heat bottles. Room temp water and mix. If ds was drinking say 5 ounces I would just put half a scoop.

I use the dr browns pitcher. I make for the whole day. Pre fill the bottles warm up and serve. It really takes out a lot of the bubbles from shaking it. I've never had a problem and this is dd 2. They are in the fridge waiting. I rarely waste formula this way

I make the bottles as I go.......Brita pitcher and powder formula. For odd number ounces I just eyeball half a scoop. Works fine.

I just made them as needed. I always made an even number of ounces. We used a drink stirrer to stir instead of shaking.

For the first few weeks though we used those 2 oz nursettes. They were so easy, especially at 2am!

I use the dr. Browns pitcher to make one large batch in the AM. It's the only way I can easily prevent bubbles. And if I'm making an odd number of ounces, I eyeball half a scoop.

I Make them as needed. At night I would pre fill the bottles with water and than bring the measured powder into our room and make the bottles as they woke up. For 5 oz bottles I just use to make 6 and toss what was left over.

Room temp water and mix is the easiest way to go!

pre-made bottles.. took them from the fridge and fed them to her... cold. She never complained.

the dilemma of the left over formula has been an on going topic of conversation, as is the fact that when you add formula the amount of total made is slightly different, etc, etc, etc.

Just part of the territory. I would make 2 and 2 or 4 and 2 or 6 and 2 to go throuhg .. always a spare 2 just in case.

I make all bottles the night before. There is no way I could fuss with filling bottles at feeding time 5 times a day x2. I'm lucky they don't scream their heads off when I'm heating them in hot water. They recognize the bottle now so they want one if they see one. When I gave DD powder I'd make in the dr browns pitcher or big measuring cup and fill bottles for the day.

I make bottles as I need them. it takes me like 30 seconds. if I want to make one ounce, I use half a scoop of the powder. I eyeball it.

I premade in the morning for the day...I think the powder dissolved better being mixed longer.

I premeasure the powder in the bottles then add the water when it's time to feed.

I would make a pitcher then x amt of bottles a day. But I would never make more than a day's worth. And I would keep them ice cold in the fridge.

now that I found the tommee tipee travel bottle warmer I use that for the am bottles I just fill the bottle with powder and pour in the warm water to the level i have for the powder. I wish i knew about this when DD was younger cause going down to the kitchen at all hours to wait for the bottle warmer while she was screaming for food, seems crazy now. Otherwise I make from scratch during the day

I did what a lot of the other posters did. Pre-filled the bottled with room temp water. When the babies were up (I had twins), I would dump the scoop in. For odd ounces (3,5, 7 oz), I just did half a scoop. Worked out fine.

We use RTF. Shes only now starting to drink room temp so im thinking about switching to powder soon... Shes drinking about 6-7oz every 3-4hrs so its getting expensive.
