Formally introducing myself! (and an obscene amount of pics)
Hello everyone!
I am Vanessa and I had my son James Richard last Thursday at 6:14 pm. I went in for am induction Tuesday night, went through 36 hours of Cervidil, 8 hours of Pitocin (begged for the epidural around hour 3 of the Pitocin  ) and never progressed past 1.5 centimeters. My doctor gave me the choice of going a few more hours on the Pitocin or doing a section. At that point, I was so tired that I just opted for the section. Good thing I did, because the way James' head was tilted, I would have ended up with a section anyway. Doc said I could have gotten to 10 cm and pushed and pushed, and he would have not descended at all - he was stuck against my bladder.
He came out screaming at 6:14 weighing 8 pounds, 10 ounces. First thing my doc said "Vaness - big baby!!!!" He was estimated in the low 8's at my last visit on Tuesday before the induction.
He's been an amazing little guy so far - doing nothing but sleep and eat every 3 hours. Doesn't fuss, doesn't cry unless he's hungry, goes along with the flow and is generally a very happy baby. He looks like me from the nose up and like DH from the mouth down. He's starting to look more and more like DH every day, though. He has deep-set blue eyes - not an ounce of brown in them. 
I'm looking forward to being an active member of this board
