For those who had babies Christened..

Just curious, what sort of celebration did you do afterwards, if at all? Did you just take the Godparents out, did you do a bigger celebration with family and friends and if so, where (home, restaurant, hall)? I'm just trying to figure out what's common these days.

We had a dinner at a restaurant for about 50 people

We had lunch at a restaurant for immediate family and the god parents. Some people include more family. Some people include everyone they know (like a wedding). Do what you are comfortable with.

Dinner at a restaurant. Immediate family, aunts, uncles and cousins, was about 50 people.

I wanted to do immediate family only for my 2nd child but DH wanted to include the aunts/uncles/cousins.

We did it many ways from wedding style to intimate.
Personally, I think the best was only inviting immediate family to church and then going out to a small lunch/dinner.

We did a lunch for godparents, our parents, and our siblings.

It was 15 people including the babies.

We had a party at our house afterwards. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, etc.

We had a late lunch/early dinner after with about 60 people.

We had a party at a VFW. We had about 90 people.

We went to a restaurant and rented private room for about 60 people

We had about 40 people in a private party room at a restaurant after the church

we had about 40-50 people at a restaurant afterwards.. too expensive, and too stressful IMO.

If we ever have another child, I wouldn't want to do that again

We had a private church ceremony in the late morning, so all were invited to that, followed by a sit-down lunch in an Italian restaurant. We have big families - about 100 people.

Dd#1 - 110 people at sayville country club
Dd#2 - 50 people backyard party

Sit down dinner in a restaurant, about 40 people. It was a small restaurant, they closed for the party.

Dinner with the godparents and their kids who are my nieces.

I didn’t want to spend money on a lavish party, so we went to Aruba instead.

First kid we had a dinner for about 40 people family & friends at a restauarant. For my other kids we just had dinner & cake at a restaurant with immediate family.

We had a catered luncheon at home after. Family only, no friends. It was a last minute thing because I wanted my mom to be there (she was dying). She passed away 2 weeks later, this was the last get together as family before that.

We had lunch and cake back at our house afterwards. Just immediate family (grandparents, God parents, siblings) about 15 people.

We went to dinner with just God Parents, their spouses and our parents.

We did dinner in a restaurant for immediate family only. I didn't have the patience with a newborn to organize a party and all the details. I also felt we could do extras and not worry about cost. I did it with both children and so easy and stress free.

We told people about the church but didn't expect people to come and afterwards had people back to my parents house. In total I believe there was about 30 people at my parents house. I'm due with my second DC in February and this time we are going to do the same thing except at my house.

We went big like 120 people at our local firehouse catering hall, 3 waitresses, bartender, dj elmo.

I haven't done a party since birthdays it's just at our home with family.
