For Fun - If you could just pick up everything and move........................
.....................where would you go?
I've been itching to move out of NY, not that I can right now, but I love to think about where I would want to go if I did leave.
For no good reason other than I am SO intrigued about the area I would look into the Pacific Northwest!! Seattle area or Portland, OR area. Just looks so beautiful over there and I'm okay with some rain!! 
So where would you go?........and why.

For Fun - If you could just pick up everything and move........................
Probably Kentucky...Louisville is awesome and I have family there.
I would also love to live in some place remote, like Iowa or Montana LOL

I would love a place that has the things I need like stores, some good places to eat, etc but somewhere that is way more quiet and less crazy paced than LI. I also want somewhere that is pretty. I think LI is just ugly, miles of traffic and strip malls. I would love to wake up every morning to a view.................trees, rivers, mountains, anything!!!

LI is the pits. I live out east and it takes forever to get to the major roadways, and it becomes congested with tourists in the summer.
I want to live where its like 65 and sunny with moderate seasons...where can I find that place LOL

Did this almost 3 years ago. Were in Rye NH we are right near the seacoast. Had the oppurtunity to do it ...and did! We vacationed here and just feel in love. Its a great town and place to live.

For Fun - If you could just pick up everything and move........................
We've done it multiple times already. When we got married in 2003, we were living in Atlanta and didn't want to stay. So we moved to Seattle. Loved it, but it was expensive and far from family, so 4 years later we decided to move again - this time to Durham, NC. We were there for about 5 years and DH got a good job on LI, so we picked up and moved again.
We already know LI isn't our forever home, so we're trying to decide where we want to live. It's hard finding a place that has all our criteria. If lifestyle out weighs everything, then we'll go to Portland (cheaper than Seattle), but if family out weighs everything, then we're having a harder time finding a liberal city (they're all in the south - TN, GA, and FL).

after 2014's cross-country road trip from NJ to CA, i fell in love with Chicago. i extended our stay there an extra day because i didn't want to leave.
back in 2004 i lived in CO for a little while. i LOVED it. if i could pick up all the people i love and put them close to me so we can all live happily ever after, it would be colorado.
those are the two US places that immediately come to mind.
otherwise, i day-dream of a coastal town in England or anywhere in Spain.

I really don't want to move again! I've lived in 3 different cities in 10 years, and I need a break. We are talking another move in 5 years, but who knows?
If I could just leave today, I'd like to do some volunteer work in a 3rd world country, but I don't know how I would deal with that. The idea sounds nice, though.

I'm with you! I hate hate hate NY winters. I'd love to move to South Florida, the majority of my family is in the Miami area and the only thing holding me back is my job. I can retire in 5 years so I'm seriously considering it

I would love to move to the Carolinas. My friend lives in Charleston and there is always something new and fun for her to do. I always get so jealous whenever I talk to her!
