Fibbing about DS age
DH will decide tomorrow if he's going to go to Myrtle Beach for the weekend with his brother. If he does, I am considering taking the kids to Woodloch for a night or two. DS just turned 3 two weeks ago. Do you think it would be terrible to say he's still 2? I just can't see spending an extra $85 more per night for his food. The kid barely eats! Lol

I heard you had a 2 year old! Just be careful. My parents put me on a plane to grandmas and when the flight attendant asked how old I was, I answered "I'm 4, but I'm suppose to tell you I'm 5."

I can't imagine anyone asking. He's pretty small for his age. And it's not like they have any drop off activities, so I would always be with the kids.

It is really wrong. You already lied last time you went to Woodloch regarding how many people were in the house. Woodloch is very strict and if they catch you they will ban you. It isn't right to scam people out of what they are owed.

i know someone who gets there kid in for free at seasme place well over the age kids are allowed in for free  with that said if i wasnt such a chicken i def. would fib about the age especially if you are talling two weeks

I think it's fine. You're not trying to pass a 5 year old as 2. Find out how strict they are and then make your final decision.

You are right, I do sound self-righteous in this instance. I only remembered this because my family owns a house at Woodloch and I have been going for the last thirty years. Woodloch is known to ban guests for this stuff. They keep a list of families that violate rules and then they are not allowed to return. However, I bet if you asked them to give you the 2 year old pricing because his birthday was recently they would.

As far as the house went, yes, we were over the amount. We paid for the full amount the house allowed, which was for 12 people. We had three more little ones who were under 3 years old and would have been free regardless. Forgive us for wanting us all to be together, rather then one family left out.  And it's not like we abused the house either. We left it in the condition we found it. All they needed to do was a quick wipe down and change the sheets.

I don't see it as awful but ... Are u sure they don't keep a record of it? I know disney seems to know my kids ages and birthdays because I have gone there a few times and they were put into system. Just something to think about and may avoid embarrassment if you were to check in and you fib to someone's face. Then again... Being that you're a frequent regular there.. Maybe if you just ask like an PP said, they may waive it. I really kind of like that approach......I'm sure they would say yes and everyone wins.

I'm not being an asshole here I swear - but like if you had a special one-weekend class and people fibbed of their kids ages (whether it was just one kid fib or a few), you may view it as no big deal but its still a loss of money kind of, you know? ***I say this respectfully of course - NO judgement. Just giving you some things to think about before you decide.
I'm not against fibbing but I like to think of all angles first before I decide to do it. So just some things to think about. Will they go down the drain business wise if you fib? No. Would u want it done to u? That kinda thing.

Here's my 2 cents. I really dislike when people bend the rules for their convenience. I think it's dishonest. I also think everything comes back to bite you, so I'd rather not take my chances with karma.

I have to agree. I look at these kind of things as if I can't afford or don't want to pay the money then I probably shouldn't go.

We do it at restaurants with my older child. She just automatically orders off the kids menu. Some places she's still considered to be on the kids menu others not. She doesn't like the food on the adult menu and no one questions it.
For the most part, most places don't ask the age, they just take your word for it.

DH and I frequently disagree about this - I say the truth is always better, but DH is always looking for ways to save $$.
We have found that most times if we are honest and ask for the younger age's rate, we are given it with a smile. There have been many times at the zoo, game farm, museum, etc where the person we purchase tickets from just charges us the cheaper rate instead of the child's true age -- I look at it as a reward for being honest.
