Re: Favorite Car for Parents?

I have a Mazda Tribute. I like it but if we have a 2nd baby it won't be good. The "trunk" area is small so my stroller takes up the whole back and the back seat will only fit the 1 car seat and 1 person. If I have another car seat back there I would not be able to have anyone in the back seat with the kids.

Re: Favorite Car for Parents?

We have one infant and I did not want a SUV so we got a honda accord-4 door. I love it and have a pretty big trunk. IT fits my 2 strollers. IT also was in consumer reports last year as one of the safest cars

I had a Chevy Equiniox and loved it. It was roomy, drove like a car (not a truck), and got really god gas mileage for a SUV. I got rid of it because my job now gives me a company car to use for personal use. I have a Chevy Malibu, which is also a great car... very roomy and EXCELLENT gas mileage.

I have twins and drive a Murano... I have always loved my car - it's spacious, safe and not too big. DH has a Pilot and it's even better for going out with the babies b/c it's slightly larger and the stroller doesn't take up the entire trunk! We're really happy wtih both of our carsChat Icon

We have the honda accord right now and I am very happy with it.

When we have another, we will have to get a bigger car.. I would love to get the Acura MDX but I am sure we will end up with the Honda pilot..

we also have a honda accord.
just got it a few weeks ago.
it is very safe.
it was a toss up between the new honda cr-v and the accord. honestly- the accord had MORE interior space than the cr-v. The trunk is very spacious.
It also has the latch in the center so we have the car seat in the middle. We took a 3 year lease that way when #2 comes we can get something bigger- at that point, probably the honda pilot- which is, by the way, on a VERY attractive lease special right now- $299/month for 3 years I think.

You didnt mention minivans but Im piping in anyway - we have the Toyota Sienna and I love it. But you either want a minivan or you dont, I know lots of people dont but its so easy with the kids. I have 3 kids but I think I'd love to have one even if I had 1 or 2 kids. I just wish I didnt get "Long Island Gray" (my name for it), I can never find it in the parking lot.

Right now we have a Malibu and just bought a Trailblazer. It is so much easier to get DD and her stroller in and out of the Trailblazer because of it's height. Bending over and kneeling in the sedan was a pain. After my lease is up, I want a minivan. It is much easier especially if I am going to have 2-3 more.Chat Icon

Nissan Murano and its great for one baby and a dog but we are looking at the new Tahoes or Pacificas for our next car. I need more room. I can't imagine 2 carseats(Britax's) in my Murano.

I have a GMC Envoy. I have 2 kids (2-1/2 and 6 months) and I love it.

Since my DH deals with cars, I looked a quite a few. the car I had before was a Pontiac Vibe (sister to the Toyota Matrix). Loved that car. It's rated the best family car/van by the latest issue of Consumer Reports. Very roomy and more than 30 mpg.

The Pontiac Torrent/Chevy Equinox are also great samll SUV with great gas mileage.

My DH drives one of the bigger SUV's, like the GMC Yukon. THey are also great, but a little more on the gas $/ less mileage.

There is soooo much room - 2 people can be in the back with the baby and the 'trunk' part has sooo much room.
We can actually put the stroller in from front to back and have the entire other side for other things

I love my Acura MDX. It is very roomy on the inside and has tons of trunk space even with the 2 strollers I carry around.
And though it doesn't really count... I have navigation and WHAT A BLESSING!!!!! You can never get lost!!!

For people with the Murano do you find it ackward to get the infant seat in and out of the car. I have the the Infiniti FX35 which is the sister car I guess and really dont find it situalbe for parents. Lukcly my stroller folds up really well otherwise I would have no room. With baby number two on the way my DH is worred that we wont have room for a double stroller. I think we will but not for anything else. I really like the Cryster Aspen and that is something that I want to look at once the lease is up. I already looked at the Infiniti Qx56 and it is huge

Wait until you have to work with the convertible carseat. Chat Icon I am glad that my lease is up before we have another baby because it's not enough room for us now. The Aspen looks nice but I ? new models until they are out awhile. But it's alot bigger than what we have now Chat Icon

I also have the Chevy Equinox and I love it. Right now its perfect for 1 baby. However, we will be having to get rid of it sooner than later, because 2 carseats won't fit comfortably in it!

I have 2 infant seats in mine, and honestly, I don't have any problems with it - I have been in other cars where the front seats are practically on the dashboard b/c they have to be up so far. I don't find that to be the case with mine and I'm able to get them in and out without a problem. I have a double stroller and it fits well in the trunk.

Re: Favorite Car for Parents?

I have the Murano, I LOVE it! It handles like my altima and it VERY spacious. I have no problems at all with carseats, i had her infant seat in the middle and now it's on the passenger side.

I haven't put my britax marathon in there quite yet, but i don't see an issue with it. There will def be no room back there once baby #2 comes. I have plenty of trunk space even when my HUGE graco stroller is back there.

i am very pleased with it, plus it gets awesome gas mileage.

I have the Ford Escape Limited. I love it because it drives like a car and it's not huge, like those gigantic SUV's.

What I have is a Ford Explorer. What I wanted is a Subaru Forrester. I think Subaru's are one of the best cars out there in terms of crash test ratings and AWD ability. And I just really like them.

We were going to go with the new Volvo XC90 (very safe) but the dealership by me was a nightmare to find us the car we want. So we are going to go with the BMW X3 instead, I hope its a good choice. Chat Icon

We have a Camry and the double stroller fits in the trunk fine and the 2 covertible seats have plenty of room between them so Sarah's not hitting Andy.

We are getting a Sienna next so that if we are taking my mom out to dinner or something we don't need 2 cars.

I know this doesn't matter to you all...but I drive a Ford Focus and its great if you have one kid. My bug fits in the boot just fine!!! But if you said to me Racheeeee, what kind of car do you want next, I would say...I am glad you asked me that. I would like a Renault Megane, in black please. With all the fancy stuff that comes with it. Its the ultimate Mommy car here and I want a black one.

We have a Honda CR-V... It's a great car for us. If we have a 3rd child we'll have to get a bigger car though.
