Extended BFers who have more than one child
If you only had a few months between one child weaning and the birth of your next one, did you encounter any jealousy issues from the older one when the baby nursed? My son is 23 months and still nursing, though he seems tobe showing potential signs of weaning just in the past few days. I am also 14 weeks pregnant, due in May. My oldest weaned at 15 months, when I was 2 months pregnant with his brother. I think he was just too young to remember nursing by the time his brother was born and nursing. So we had no issues. This time, it will be a smaller gap between weaning and the baby being born, and I'm figuring he will be around 2yo by the time he completely weans. I'm just wondering what experiences others have had in similar circumstances, so I know what I might expect!

Re: Extended BFers who have more than one child
I don't have an answer but also would like to hear others experiences. I weaned Dd at 25 months when I was about 8 weeks pregnant. We were down to 1 session before bedtime and it was an easy transition to fully weaned...BUT EVERYTIME she sees me changing (and gets a glimpse of my chest) she will ask about her "mi" (as she called it), and I explain that I don't have any more "mi" and that it's only for baby's and she's a big girl now and drinks her milk from a cup. She's fine with that, but I'm worried she will be jealous come March when she sees her new baby brother BFing. I really hope she forgets by then, or accepts that it's a baby thing, but I'm afraid!!

I had ds 2 when ds 1 was 19 months and I nursed both until ds 1 was 22 months and self weened. It was hard but not too hard if that makes sense lol. There was no jealously though. He never asked for it when I constantly was nursing ds2 as a newborn. He only nursed when he normally did... When he woke up, nap time, and bed time.
