Extended BFers...lots of questions
DD is going to turn one in a little over two weeks. We made it through the whole year without formula and are now adding whole organic milk into her bottles to get her ready for full milk sippy cups at one. I love bfing and so does she and I don't think she's ready to totally stop but I am SO DONE WITH PUMPING! Especially since she's been good with the 1/2 bf 1/2 milk combo so far (my mom watches her while I'm at work so I pump for her to have milk when she's there). I want to know if it's possible to give her regular milk during the day and bf her at night before bed. I know she is not going to give that up! Do I cut out pumpings/feedings (on the days she's not with my mom) to give my body a chance to get used to not producing so much bm? Here's our "schedule" now:
Morning: Pump around 5:45 She either drinks a bottle at my mom's or I bf her when she wakes up Bottle/bf before morning nap around 11/I pump at 12 when I'm not with her Bottle/bf before afternoon nap around 3 BF at night around 7 BF sometime through the night when she wakes up
I know it's terrible that she still wakes up at night to bf but I dont think it's going to stop soon. Will I be able to bf her around 7 and then around 2 in the morning if I totally stop bfing her during the day? I made it through the year without any bfing problems and I really don't want to get mastitis or something now that I'm trying to wean her off day time bm. Thanks, for anyone that can help!
