Experiences that weren't as fun as you thought they'd be
Anyone ever expect a specific experience to be enjoyable and it really wasn't?
I remember growing up there were two things I really looked forward to doing when I became an adult.
1- choosing a house to buy- in my delusional mind every house would be gorgeous. Yup, not so much
2- naming my children. Naming DD1 was a great experience. Naming DD 2 was much more difficult. We had countless conversations over many months. Most nights the conversation ended with one of us pissed off or frustrated.

Both of these!
Plus car shopping. Thought it would be so much fun and there is nothing I would like to do less. I rather get a root canal then car shop lol
Cruises. I hated almost every second of it. All my friends would go and talk about how great it was. Wasn't for me.

Buying cars is always a let down for me since I had kids. I always go into it thinking I am going to get something nice like a BMW or a Land Rover and I end up with a Buick. Not that the buick isn't nice enough, but it's a buick....
House hunting has always been fun but I love house hunting.

Driving an ATV thru the forest on the side of a mountain in Costa Rica.
Sounds like fun!
There were small kids with large machetes on the side of the road watching us. And when I say side of the road I mean 6 feet wide dirt path sloped OFF of the side of the mountain. Go a little far to the right and oopseys, there I go barreling to my death!

Going to concerts. I love music but I consider it more of a background thing than main event. I get bored just standing there listening.

Snorkeling with sting rays. I was TERRIFIED. I have never been afraid of an animal in my life and I was in an all out panic. I had NO IDEA Id react that way, I was looking forward to it until I got in the water, realized how big and slimy they were and that there were DOZENS of them. Not to mention, those fluckers are stealthy, the kick up the sand on the bottom so you don't know they are coming and then brush up again you. UGH! Awful!

I hate snorkeling in general. I go because my husband likes it. When we were in Freeport Bahamas I told him I was going back on the boat. He asked why and I said there were too many fish. The guide was laughing and said he's never heard that complaint before.
