It's not a good situation...he pulled his catheter out this morning and was urinating ok for a couple hours, but got blocked up again.
If he doesn't clear up on his own, we may have to put him down.

Oh Gerty I'm so sorry. This happened to my cat years ago and we had to leave him for a few days at the vet also. It happened one more time after that but since he's been fine...and this started 8 years ago. We just had to change his diet. I hope the same for Espresso

I am so sorry you are going through this. I heard this is common in male cats.
This happened to my cat years ago. It ended up being crystals that he couldnt pass. We either had to put him down or he had to have major surgery that was like $2000. (this was 5 years ago) We opted for the surgery. The basically had to invert his penis into his body and make the hole bigger so the crystals could pass. The surgery went well and he was fine after that. So maybe there is hope!

My brothers cat Dizzle has this same problem. You just have to keep an eye on if he's going or if you notice bloating. Dizzle has had this happen about 3 times now, and it's so scary for my brother. I'm so sorry. It's a life long struggle with this, and there is no long term fix. FM if I can help at all

It's hard when our pets have to be in the hospital. However, the last vet I went to had staff that seemed to really love the animals they were watching over. So I am sure your is being treated like a king.
I'm sure you miss him and hopefully he'll be home really soon.
