Dropping naps at 2 years old
DD turned 2 in August, she was always a good napper and sleeper when it came to bed time. Lately she gives me a hard time to take a nap I will put her in and she will get out of bed take out every book she owns and won't go down for a hour or so and at night when it's bedtime she doesn't want to stay down. I put her to bed and she must come out of her room 10x a night! It makes me crazy only because once the twins go down and it's her bedtime I want to go to bed and find myself up an extra 2 hours to try to get Reilly down. I was thinking of not napping her and maybe by the time bedtime rolls around she will want to crash?! Anyone go through this??

Re: Dropping naps at 2 years old
DD has given us such a hard time with naps the last few months (she just turned 2). She used to go down no problem. She naps fine at daycare. At home she doesnt nap, she may fall asleep in the car if we go out in the afternoon.
A couple times she skipped the nap completely and went to bed 2 hours earlier.
Her bedtime also moved 1/2 hour later too. I used to put her in there and she screamed. I put her in 1/2 hour later now and she goes straight to bed.
I'd try skipping the nap once day, see how she does.

Re: Dropping naps at 2 years old
JJ started to do the same thing. He was just 2 on 9/6. He decided like the week after his birthday to drop his nap. The days he did not nap, he would crash at 630 on the couch drinking his milk. But if he does not nap, right around 230, he becomes a wild man. I will not give him a nap that starts any later then 1 or bedtime is a nightmare.
I do believe its a phase though bc after about 1.5 weeks of a nap strike, he will now nap 4 out of 7 days. Today is not one if them

Re: Dropping naps at 2 years old
I really don't want to give them up because I love when I am home on the weekend that I can get them all down for a little at the same time BUT it's the night time routine that is killing us now. She usually goes to bed around 8:00 and it was 9:30 the last time and even then she was coming into my room a few times after that. I know this summer she would go without naps at times when we were at the beach and would go down like a champ at night just wondering if it would do the same now!
