I lean very liberal and have a lot of compassion for those using drugs. That being said I can’t stand this. People already flock to NY because it’s so easy to get social assistance. Go right down to DSS and get your housing, food, and heat bill paid for. Maybe even a free cell phone! What’s next? Apply for assistance for your drug habit? Oh wait they already have that, it’s called the county methadone clinic. We really need to stop normalizing and enabling addiction as we are heading down the wrong really fast. Sadly I feel like it’s almost too late

No kidding but why enable it with things like this. Should not be making it easier for people to use, just my opinion…
People are going to use - there's no stopping it. Places like this aren't to encourage people to use - it's to allow them to do it safely by not using dirty needles/spreading Hep C and trying to stop overdoses. Fentanyl is on the rise and it's really scary how many people are dying from using it without even knowing.

If you vote Dem you’re responsible.
Riiiiight.
And if you vote Republican you're responsible for every mass shooting or gun death because of your obsession with gun rights.
Anyone who wants to play that game should hold onto their hat because I could spend morning, noon, and night making a list of all the ways people who vote for Republicans have inflicted harm on millions of Americans every day through the failed policies of the people they've elected.
I don't find that useful or fun, though. I prefer to place the blame elsewhere - on the Republican politicians themselves, who didn't even attempt to build a new 2020 platform and have to employ the Southern Strategy to maintain any power because even they know that their policies don't work; on Facebook, Fox, etc., who know that their platforms allow the perpetuation of blatant right wing lies with impunity; and on our antiquated political system, which allows a reactionary minority to maintain power disproportionate to their percentage of the population.

Personally I don't see how this could ever work. Perhaps none of you know drug addicts first hand but they are typically out of their mind and not thinking rationally or making any type of rational decision.
Most accurate comment on this thread.
I also think it's insane to use with the word empowered. Maybe the person who came up with this ad was high themselves.

Right - empowered is just completely inappropriate. How about:
Don't want to die while using? Here are some tips.....
But even that wouldn't do sh*t. This is just another strange way of trying to manage an out of hand problem. Instead they should have taken all of the money used to create this ad and put it towards publicly funded rehab, or better yet, into the schools in at risk areas.
