I have been clueless about this issue also. I have lived on the North Shore Nassau area and am currently in the Middle of Nassau and never hear them at all. Once it a while if something happens you may see one but that's it.

I live in East Northport and over the summer Thursday and Friday afternoons and nights the helicopter were insane. Also Sunday afternoon
Some of them fly soooo low

we see/hear them once the summer traffic starts...ALL THE TIME
I am on the north shore suffolk county...heard that they follow the train tracks...

How often would they come over? I would never expect to hear that in East Northport of all places.
I hope there is some relief from this for those affected. I wonder if this meeting they had will change anything?

We are in NW Suffolk and the summer weekends can get bad. We make the best out of them now - since DS loves Helicopters - but I don't see why some of them are so close - I feel like I can jump and touch them.
I'm glad something is being done - I remember it from childhood as well.

The owners of my co. have their own copter. I live near the office so sometimes I will look up and see our co. helicopter. So can't really complain.
