Does your little one have a "witching hour"?

DD2 is 10 weeks and between 6pm and 7pm she becomes so inconsolable. It can last for hours and its hard to calm her down. Does any one else's LO have this in the evening? She eventually falls asleep after hours of holding her, rocking her, and swaddling but it's so hard to see her this way while its going on

DD is 9 weeks. I don't know if I'd call it a withy hour but she gets cranky around 7pm also and likes to be held.. She's not inconsolable though and it doesn't last too long cause she usually falls asleep right away.

I've heard of this, but I find that when DS gets cranky like this he's usually wanting a bottle and then to go to sleep.

Sometimes she won't even take a bottle when she is like that...eventually she will but not until she calms down

In the same boat. From what I remember its common and happens when the sun goes down. I'm just praying it doesn't last long

My son went through that phase as well. We called it the witching hour as well. He was well fed and didn't need a nap, he just cried, well screamed. Taking him outside actually helped. He liked the different scenery and just being outside. The weather is nicer now maybe give it a try.

Witching Hour = Bedtime - at least for my DS it did.

When he was an infant, he would have a fit at around 6-7pm and was inconsolable. I started putting him down for the night at that time and he went down with no problem.

Dd is only 2 1/2 weeks and 7 pm is her freak out time. It lasts about an hour. She sleeps all day then at 7 wakes and freaks. She's not hungry at that moment. It sucks. Dd #1 had it too

DS had one. Between 10-11pm. WORST THING EVER OMG. There is absolutely nothing you can do. All I can say is that it does eventually end

we had one..twin boy screamed starting at 1 am and it went on for a few hours

it took about 2 weeks for it to go away

Most kids go through a "witching hour" phase. My DS was awful from 6-8 every night. The good news is that it is only a phase! This too shall pass.

Ds definitely did. It was right around 630-7pm. It was also the time he was most active and kicking when I was pregnant.

It didn't last forever. His was def not hungry or tired.

My Dd is older now but she had witching hours! She would be inconsolable for hours. It was terrible. We found that a sound machine on the white noise setting worked....even the vacuum cleaner worked. My DH actually burned a CD of the vacuum sound.

Yes! One of lifes mysteries lol. They would spit out pacis every 10 minutes. It drove me insane. It sucks but they outgrew it. Then I thought it was coming back at 5.5 mo but they just wanted to eat and go to sleep earlier which did the trick.

Until DD was about 7 or 8 months old you could tell time by her because of her witching hour.

Yep. DD had it for about 2 weeks every night at around 7:00. She wasn't hungry, tired, etc. I just held her and rocked her until she stopped.

Yes! Every evening around 6pm in the beginning. Only it lasted like 6 hours!! We switched her formula to a gentle brand and added gas drops and she was much better. At 6 months we still add gas drops to her bottle.

I would suggest gripe water and / or gas drops. Even if you are nursing you can use the dosing syringe and slowly put it in against the cheek. We add it to her bottle.

DD had a witching hour around that same time... It was more like witching hours - I think it went on for 3 hrs.


Lasted maybe two weeks but felt like a lifetime.

DD has hers..its around 7pm.. exactly the time my DH get home from work and we want to have dinner. Hoping it will pass soon.

DD had this. I would feed her and put her down before- that worked. But it took a while to figure it out.

Until I did, it helped a little to get her out in the fresh air.

We also have been through it. One of my twins would cry from 6-9Pm until 12 weeks. We put chamomile tea in bottle. Google it, really it works for some
