What do you do with your DC during their "witching hour"?
Derek's witching hour is between 6:15-7:15 right before bed. But he is almost unbearable between the whining and crying. One minute he wants to be in the jumperoo the next he doesnt. I also have to feed Tyler and spend time with him so I usually just put him down and let him fuss.

I usually have to stand with her, bouncing her around the room. And she doesn't have an "hour" she has "HOURS". So i literally walk the floors for like 3hrs at a time otherwise she cries to the point where she cant breathe. Then she'll take a bottle at some point and just completely stop. Like she was never crying in the first place lol
She's actually a little better now. She doesn't do it every single day anymore. maybe more like 3-4 times a week.
her witching hours, by the way, used to be 230AM-530AM
now it moved to around dinner time 5-6ish

DS is going through this right now...like he's just frustrated to be in his body because there's so many places he could be and things he could touch but he has no way to get there (he's not crawling or walking). I literally have to entertain him with a million toys as his attention span is about 30 seconds. Lately this has been going on nearly all day but is much worse during 6-bedtime

I am going through DS' right now rubbing my temples while he is crying... 20 more min til his last bottle 
I also usually have to walk around & bounce him.

Usually walk him around in his stroller outside. It's been a problem when he decides to take the witching hour earlier than usual & it comes when I'm trying to get my older son bathed & in bed.
Dana, I feel your pain. My older DS had colic & I was *always* up walking him around outside at 3am

put them to bed! i found that the witching hour was caused by simple over-tiredness. once i did that-no more witching hour!

I also found that gripe water works great short term for colic, gets them calm enough for a few minutes so that they can fall asleep.
If that doesn't work, I'll put him over my shoulder and step out on our balcony. We are on a fairy busy street. Something about the noise of cars swooshing past calms him instantly.

I usually sing songs with him & try to get him to go to bed at that point! When he hits his "witching" time, I know it is bedtime! That usually means he is beyond exhausted

Same for me. I nurse her, try to rock her, then lay her down. She may cry a little bit, but then falls asleep. Witching hour = exhausted for my DD.

we have to bounce our DD...but only a certain way. & i try the paci
but for us most of her crying seems to be for more food.

When Santino gets fussy I just soothe..hold..play....and try to distract him. If he is really overtired I will put on his Lullabye Baby Einstein to wind him down...I'll usually hold him and massage him when he is watching it

This is so true! My girls started around 6 and cried until 3 every night. Until I started their night routine. They always would fight sleep but once they went down. it was the greatest thing for them.

I do this as well. If nothing I do makes DS happy then it know it is time for bed.
