Does your dc sleep well on vacation?

Ds is 10 mo and we just took a short trip to visit my brother. He was fine on the plane but would not sleep well at night . I had to sleep with him and even then he woke up several times. Is this normal?

Is is the first time traveling with him?
My twins sleep well for the most part, however we have been away with them several times starting when they were young, they also sleep in a pnp 3 days a week at my moms for naps.
Maybe you could occasionally have him sleep in the pnp at your house to get him used to it, especially right before you go away.

We went away once when he was 7 mo and he slept ok in the pnp. But this time we were using a borrowed pnp and there was a dog in the house. The dog didn't bark but shed hair. I'm wondering now whether ds wasn't accustomed to the air and borrowed pnp? Before he only slept in the pnp bassinet too and now since he's standing, we had to put him on the lower level....
