Does DH share in your optimism?

AF isn't due until early next week. I am having all sorts of symptoms, different from before - really hungry, then I eat and feel nautious, throughout the day, burping and gas, and cramping on and off (although that's usual for me). Anyway, DH doesn't want to hear it - I know he's just worried about me getting my hopes up again (this is cycle 11) but still. Anyway, just curious -do you discuss your symptoms with DH and what's his reaction?

He feeds off me. If I'm getting hopeful then he does too. If I think I'm out he'll tell me that there is always next month. He's good like that!

DH is worried about me getting too optimistic because he is concerned that I'll be upset when it doesn't happen. He is definitely excited about the whole process though!

I discuss them with him but both take any and all symptoms with a grain of salt. IMHO PG symptoms aren't much different from AF symptoms. I read threads on here of girls who share symptoms they have/had when they got their BFP and to be honest...they're no different then the symptoms I had last month - was 4 days late & then got AF. Re: Does DH share in your optimism?

i don't really discuss my symptoms with him either..I don't want him to experience the disappointment I feel when I build it up to myself and then AF comes. He keeps me grounded with his lets just wait and see attitude and I try to emulate that as much as I can..it's hard though.

DH gets more excited than I do. Everything is because we made a baby. I cough, it's because we made a baby. I have a head ache, it's because of the baby. He's quite funny!! Chat Icon

I think after trying for so long DH doesn't get his hopes up anymore. He tells me he will be excited when he see the postive test but not a moment before.

My DH is the same way, he doesn't want to hear it and all I want to do is talk about it! (especially since I really have no one else to talk to except you girls!)

i try not to share - because by talking about it out loud - it's like making it real and then it makes it that much harder when AF shows up...

last month - i was devestated...seriously. i don't want that to happen again.

Re: Does DH share in your optimism?

We just started ttc, so this is our first tww.....but he is so convinced that I am pregnant it is ridiculous. I feel bad for him, because he has no clue that it's not that easy...most people don't just decide and boom it happens.

Anyway, I am trying to not feed into it by telling him the symptoms I am experiencing (though of course I am OBSESSING secretly!) I just don't want him to get his hopes up and then be sad.....
