Generally no, but since learning *some* people actually go to stores like Macys, JCPenney, Kohls, etc and buy dresses that they use for 1 occassion and then return them - I probably will start washing everything I take home from a store now. 
If someone returns something that is worn you can't resell it. It has to be damaged out...

I worked in retail for 15 years and unless I know it came off the wrack right then and there YES I wash it...
A lot of clothing comes in with huge bugs when they are being shipped from other countries.
And bathing suits are a must to wash. You would cringe at the amount of people who do not keep their underwear on. Or they rip that little piece of masking tape out thinking cooties won't get them.

I always wash everything for several reasons:
-usually they're wrinkled or feel stiff to me
-usually smell funny to me (like chemicals)
-i know people return stuff after they wore it without taking the tags off

I have to admit that I do wash them before wearing. Considering that others may have tried them on and also with the bedbug epidemic going around NYC and LI you just never know what you might bring home in your new clothes.

Only undies, and only if they're not packaged. If people's grubby fingers were all over them looking for a size, I want them clean before I put them on! Hanes 5-in-a-package, though... nah. And shirts and pants - I feel like they always look best straight home from the store and depending on the weather / what I do in them I'll sometimes wear them twice before washing. There. I said it.

I wear them without washing EXCEPT for bra's and undies. DH thinks I am CRAZY and that EVERYONE washes clothes before wearing them.
So I need to show him the results...unless I am the crazy one! 
I am exactly the same way and DH thinks I am weird for the exact same reason. I love the crispness of the clothes before they are washed.

to answer: only intimate clothing. Regular clothes, I just wear. Can't be much worse than anything else we encounter/sit on/touch on a daily basis.
