Do you wash NEW clothes before wearing?
If you go to the store and buy a whole bunch of new clothes, will you wash them before you wear them or just wear them?
I wear them without washing EXCEPT for bra's and undies. DH thinks I am CRAZY and that EVERYONE washes clothes before wearing them.
So I need to show him the results...unless I am the crazy one!

I do. I have sensitive skin/eczema, so my dermatologist told me years ago to wash everything first to remove any excess dyes/chemicals.

I work in a clothing store, there really is no need to worry about this unless you have super sensitive skin and worried about the dye they use. But if you buy dark jeans that say " wash before wearing" believe me u want to do that or u will have blue stains on things around you

I never used to. DH always has and I thought it was one of his weird quirks. Since meeting him, I met someone who was in the apparel industry and she told me to ALWAYS wash everything before wearing it. I heard a few stories about fabrics in the warehouse that grossed me out.
Also, I have recently read reports that said they have done studies on clothing purchased new in stores and most things had bacterias such as ecoli on them, not just on underwear.

No--never crossed my mind to wash them. I don't know why...I just wouldn't think to wash before I wear it because I love taking the tags off new clothes and putting on a new outfit. To wash them seems like so much more work and like someone else said...it would feel like taking away the "newness" of the clothes.

If you only knew what most off-the-shelf clothes has been through prior to landing in your shopping bag, you'd definitely want to wash it! There is all kinds of dust and dirt that most clothing has been exposed to. Not to mention the whole bedbug craze going on these days. Yes, a bunch of retail stores have had to close down and get disinfected due to bedbug infestations.

Yes. DH & I both did this seperately before we met.
I have become a little lax with dry clean only stuff though & will only dry clean before wearing it if it looks like it has been tried on a lot. (wrinkled, deodorant marks, etc)

Bras, underwear and swim suits. Also, anything that feels rough to the touch and needs to be softened.
