Do you take the day off from work on your birthday?
I don't recall the last time I did, if I did at all.

In my 20's I definitely took off from work for my bday. With 4 weeks of vacation time and unlimited sick days, and no kids at that point, there was no reason not to. Some years I even took off the whole week.

Not usually- my birthday always falls on or around Thanksgiving so I get a 4 day weekend right around my birthday anyway. I actually started my job on my birthday... 12 years ago! 
ETA: I used to occasionally before I had my DD.

Me too! What day is your bday? Mine's the 25th.
If my bday falls on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I sometimes take it off, but usually not if it's on a Monday or Tuesday.

We give people the day off on their birthday. If it falls on the weekend, you can pick the Monday or Friday to have off.

Yes. I take off every year. I refuse to have to do work on my birthday!!!
Plus, my birthday is at the end of the summer. If it's nice out I spend the day at the beach with my book. It's ME time - sometimes it's the only day the entire summer I take off.
If it's not nice out, I will take myself out to lunch or shopping.
I never let DH take the day off to spend it with me!! It's my alone time every year.

I'm the 27th! See I'm the opposite- the Wednesday is so dead at work and we get out early so I feel like I wasted a full vacation day if I take it off. Mine is the Monday this year and I was thinking of taking off. 5 day weekend!

That's true about getting out a bit early on Wed. However I don't get holidays at my new job (have to take PTO off for everything) and we don't get out early before holidays. But I like your idea of 1 5 day weekend!

At my old company, they used to give you a vacation day to use for your birthday so I would. :) Now that I'm an accountant, my birthday is right smack in the middle of busy season so nope, I can't. :(
